if you’re going for the medical insurance billing, coding and office administration program beware!!! You will literally learn coding procedures, your teacher will tell you you’re in medical billing and coding and office administration class but when it comes to externship they’ll put you in a place that doesn’t even pertain to what you wanted to be in. For me they gaslighted me into thinking I was going for only office admin when I’m like why was I taught coding procedures then? Why do I have the option to take the test to be a certified coder? They would tell me oh this is just a stepping stone to where you’re going to be. I asked Sam if she could help me find another site because where she had me placed was for medical assisting which I had already done years ago. And I had asked her if I could go to a different site because I was supposed to be learning coding and billing she basically told me I was wrong about the whole thing I’m going to school for admin and not coding and basically I’m just gonna have to deal. Long story short I end up staying and getting hired but later this new student comes in and has the same story as me we’re not getting the experience that we had hoped for. But come to find out same got her a new site the second day. So I don’t know if Sam is picking and choosing who she wants to help but she didn’t help me. Now I’m in a position that I already had for less money. I’m not doing anything I went to school for and on top of that I feel so unprepared for my test. I was thinking about going back to school for my nursing but I won’t be coming back here. I feel like I was set up...
Read moreSo I may sound angry when I say what I'm about to say and that's fine. 🙃 I am thankfully already a nurse. Whose been to clinicals and had to speak with the OBON. Yes getting liscensed wasn't as easy as everyone else but I thankfully was able to get it done. I was in a horrible relationship almost 10 years ago. I protected my childern from harm from there father who was abusive. Not proud and did my two weeks and dumbly took a plea. I thought I had no choice and the public defender wasn't great. I'm not from this state so both parties were charged. So for you to day it's policy and not even hear me out says a great deal about your college. Keeping nurses out when there's a shortage?! Make it make sense. Everyone should be treated on a case by case basis at least. Additionally, I have gone to clinicals while at two different colleges. So your lying when you say I wouldn't be able to go to clinicals. You could always make me find my own site. Or make me sign a waiver. So many options besides no. Also I scored well on the entrance test. It just amazes me in this day and age that some things don't change. Despite the overwhelming need for change and also nures. If your not a nurse yet go to Arizona College there's a great BSN program...
