Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Elyria

My favorite grocery store. Has a great selection of produce , meat choices 5 for 19.99 and all the gluten-free things anyone might need. Great doughnuts too for those who aren't☺ Three years later and I don't even want to give them one star! They are rude and really unhelpful! I have been noticing a lot of extra items on my receipts so when my total was shockingly high today I asked a question and was given the brush off. When asked if I wanted my receipt emailed or printed I asked for it to be emailed because I know from experience they tell you it says you've asked for email and they won't print it. Got home expecting to see my receipt in my email and it hasn't come. Called customer service( I use the term loosely) and they hung up before I could ask a question so I called the store was asked by someone in a hurry what I wanted and was transferred to the meat department! It's like they are all high or asleep on the job. Then I finally get transferred to the front desk and am told " We have nothing to do with that" ???? But if you come in and give us your card number we can print you a receipt. Why , if I give them my number can't the email me one???...

Went to this location with my boyfriend and I usually go to Sheffield since it’s closer. This location had THE worst self checkout helper, she made snide remarks to my boyfriend and I, another couple checking out behind us and an older gentleman having trouble scanning his items.. she was rushy and rude towards the whole self checkout area. We also were buying alcoholic drinks to which we needed help since she needed to check out IDs since were younger and definitely don’t look like we’re old enough to buy it being 25 and 24 years old, well she never checked our IDs and complained about us having over 12 items at the self checkout while trying to “fix” the machine.. we had 20 items but they were closing and there were only a few people there so we thought it was okay since we were going to be quick about checking out, overall I don’t think I will go back to that location if I don’t have to.. the manager i spoke to about the nasty attitude cashier was very nice though, hopefully they will tell her to be nicer to people and not have an attitude anymore.. very unnecessary since no one was rude to her first, we never said one word to her until...

Great location, just around the corner from the abandoned mall/Spirit Halloween. Upon first entering I noticed a dry cleaning arrangement with a rack of clothing that ascends into the ceiling, very modern. There is a well staffed pharmacy in one corner, as well as a Huntington bank that appeared to be in the middle of a fumigation. Most of the customers are elderly, but that just means it's easier to beat them to the shortest checkout line. Thankfully they carry my Iguana's favorite cereal (Captain Crunch Oops All Berries, family size) since the pet shop next door doesn't, so that's one less trip for me. A downside at the checkout is that the scanner for your Giant Eagle Advantage card is tucked so far underneath the register screen that it's either supposed to be used by children or they intend on you folding your arms up in front of your stomach like an awkward vampire. Overall a positive experience, the only real annoyance is the general smell around the fish counter gives me sea shanty flashbacks.
