Elyria Public Library-West River Branch — Attraction in Elyria

The staff at the Elyria Public Library West River Branch are first rate and knowledgeable. I've never had a problem getting assistance there or had any impression other than that of the utmost proficiency at their duties and professionalism.

That cannot be said for the other recent reviews/ reviewers on this site.

First, the name calling and rude references to physical attributes of others in describing the services rendered from a facility calls into question the credibility of the reviewer themselves. It provides a little bit of insight into the reviewers' own etiquette when interacting with others to describe people in such a demeaning fashion. Second, not sure how much credence can be given to reviews written by 1) someone who is taking a class on how to think...and is proud of it or 2) someone who openly admits to having serious mental derangements and wants us to believe her experience getting a library card set off an episode of instability. Both reviewers apparently have nothing but time on their hands to write nasty review after nasty review having collectively submitted 160 reviews on this site and rarely having had a positive experience. Frankly, ladies, your reviews appear to be more of a reflection of you and your inability to "play well with others" than of those locations or services you are...

I absolutely love this library and the people that work there. I have not met 1 employee there that was anything short of wonderful and polite. They always call if I return a movie without the disc (has happened a few times when I forget the movie is still in the player) so I have a chance to bring it in. Always quick to answer my questions. Even today, I dropped movies off in the outside bin and they happened to have missed the container on the inside. When I noticed they were still on my account the lady went right outside and called me back within 5 min to not only let me know she found them but back dated them so I didnt owe a fee (even tho I was still a day late). I have been coming to this library my entire life, very nice in side, great selection of books, wonderful seating areas and have never had a bad experience up until today. One of the librarians on the second floor was very rude to me and treated me as if I was a nuisance after I interrupted her conversation with her coworker to ask a quick question. I did not catch her name but she was a thick lady, with red hair and a very rude and condescending attitude. It will be the first and last time I approach that counter with any sort of question.
