Go with anyone but Spectrum. We had an account with Time Warner, then Charter bought them, and it turned into Spectrum.
Our bill states at $135/ per month. When I went to cancel my services they had jacked it up to $297/ per month for the same services we started with at $135.
I asked them if they could lower our price to retain us a customer they said not without cutting our services
I packed up all my equipment and bought it to my local store. They took my equipment back then told me they don't prorate bills. I'd have to pay my bill in full ($297) for using only 1 week (7 days of service.)
This is pure bullying, and I will not be bullied. I offered to pay $100, which is more than fair. This is how they keep you from leaving them.
I got home internet from Tmobile. The speeds are faster. The internet is more reliable and I no longer have to use an ethernet cord. My bill is $40 a month including fees and taxes for 500mbps download speed and 50mbps upload speed. Spectrum was the same speeds but they charged $89.99 & they weren't nearly as good.
I got YouTube TV and I get basically all the same channels, endless dvr space.i can record as many prograns at one time as I want for half price at $72, Spectrum was billing me$180. I've had no down time, and both services work so much better than Spectrum ever worked.
If you are trying to decide who to go with. The answer is easy... Go with anybody...
Read moreDishonest. I called the first week of December to switch the service from myself to the new homeowner, who happens to be my brother, and was told I was paid up until January 2nd. As long my brother turned in my old equipment and picked up his new equipment by the 2nd, my account will close with no additional charges.
It's the 2nd and I get charged for another month to my card. Equipment was turned in weeks ago. My brother has already been billed for their new account, but I am still being charged.
I called as soon as the auto payment hit my card today and was told they were dishonest about not being charged again. I was being charged because Spectrum does not prorate billing, so essentially I was paying for December's service, even though I called prior to the service dates to avoid having to make another payment.
The person I spoke with knew my goal was to not make another payment and to help my brother get his own account. I even helped the guy call my brother to get everything set up in his name. I should have been advised to turn in the equipment before December's billing started to avoid having to pay again, but was told I was not going to be charged again... Then was charged again.
Very dishonest and so ridiculous for an extra...
Read moreWe recently moved to Lorain. We were told if we were looking for internet service, Spectrum was the place to go. I was leary. Before we moved, we were constantly getting salespeople calling us, knocking on our door, and sending great "deals" in the mail. I was happy with my AT&T fiber and did not want more cables like we had in Spokane WA. We didn't see many options, so we drove to the Spectrum in Elyria and requested information. We were helped by Courtney. To say she was great, knowledgeable, personable, and helpful is an understatement. She spent so much time with us and seemed to really care about our "wants" more than talking us into spending a lot of money. Bill purchased a new phone, and we moved our mobile apps to Spectrum. I say this even though I preferred another company's phone insurance plan. A few days later, a gentleman came out to set up our internet. He was really great! I asked him his name because he deserved to be mentioned. He spent so much time working on all of these rooms. If I remember his name, I will edit this review and add it. These guys deserve a raise. I thought I had updated...
