I think this places has a great selection of headphones, and laptops for every need. I gave this place three stars because I felt very uncomfortable. I mean very. I think there should be a rule on the amount of times an employee can approach you and ask you if you need something or if they can help you. They probably mean well, but after a certain amount of time, it starts to get annoying and uncomfortable. I like to take my time and look around. I only went in to get some headphones, but as I am thinking of getting a laptop soon, decided to go browsing around. But when I asked for my headphones, the employee didn't ask to set it aside for me and gave it to the cashier and told me to wait in line. I was a bit confused, since I wanted to look around, but I decided to just wait. I let the cashier know I wanted to look around if that was ok. The cashier was understanding and said yes, so I walked away to see the products they had in store. Every time I went through a different aisle, I got asked if they could help, sometimes 4 times if I was looking at a product in the same aisle. I got asked by the same employee the same way about three times, so I am sure he didn't even remember he had already asked. I don't know if they're obligated to do so or something, but it was very irritating. Maybe Best Buy is not doing so good, but it sure seemed well staffed. If it's a commission thing, it only makes me not buy anything and leave. I only stayed because I really wanted to take my time on the laptop section and accessories. On top of that, I heard someone had stolen in the store and as I was looking at a product, an employee asked me if I needed something and kept waiting right next to me after I said no, thank you. I had to walk away because he kept his eyes on me. I guess they were figuring out what the person stole and were waiting for me to move from the aisle or something, but I just thought that was a bit rude considering I am a different person. Anyway, I know this is not the only store that seems to promote this behavior, but this was quite extreme in my opinion. I bought the headphones and was glad to get out of there. I wasn't being followed by any particular employee or being harassed (or at least I don't think so), but it felt like I was being profiled or followed, even if their words meant to be nice. If I need anything, I think I will be buying online or going to other stores to physically check the laptops out and buying online if I do have to buy from Best Buy. I hope they find better ways to relate to their customers and find better measures to protect the merchandise without...
Read moreSadly this place is a sinking ship that's merely in the process of sinking. That's seriously the single biggest reason for the rating. Please note, in saying their a sinking ship that's merely in the process of sinking I'm not talking about Best Buy as a whole, just the Battle Creek location. All the signs are there if you just pay attention. A few of the biggest one's are reduced stone hours. They open a hour later and close a hour earlier than most of their other locations. The place also has limited selection in store and on hand of anything not flying off their shelves at blazing speeds, even a lot of stuff that would sell ridiculously fast is out of stock and is for several months at a time. Default to the old COVID excuse if you dare ask anyone there why their short supplied and often even back ordered to the point of them not knowing when inventory will be available again. Huh, funny, it's not that way at Walmart, Target or any of the other places nearby that are essentially their competitors. Go there, they'll quickly tell you. Another sign, they genuinely don't care, at all, they don't even feign caring.
So by now someone reading this will wonder how it even gets 3 stars. Well setting aside their obvious lack of caring if you ignore how they are towards customers you can at least get a neutral side from them by being neutral yourself. So getting along with them is possible. Another thing is while out of stock routinely on many things their at least generally well stocked on most of their exclusive lineup Insignia. Want anything from Insignia? Obviously you have to go to Best Buy to get it and generally they'll most likely have it in stock. Also a fairly ok (to a limited extent) place to get games and physical media like vinyl records and movies at. They are pretty decent about price matching too. Definitely a plus for them. If they could just accept that from an outsiders perspective that this locations future looks dim and that it's all because of so many signs pointing that way then this place would be okay, until they inevitably fold this location. Think I'm wrong about this? My prediction is this location has until 2025...
Read moreI walked by Employees and know they saw me. One employee 2x who was at front of store on her phone texting, searching whatever she was doin but, never asked me if I needed help!!!!! I continued to walk the store, other employees looking at me and they'd just keep walking. Couldn't tell if they were all assisting other customer's or retrieving orders. Even staff that was stocking didn't ask me if I needed help, I understand under staffed but thos took it there. Another employee saw me and never said a word, I know he can talk heard him doin so with another employee. He was stocking Ninja products, I even had to move as I didn't know if he was goin to take ladder to another end of row. Still nothing, I eventually found what I was looking for on my own!!!! Then bein told I've got to have a membership number to simply make my purchase. OMH, my irritability level was already high simply from lack of any assistance. If I'd wanted to buy a flat screen television I looked at, I believe still I wouldn't have been asked if I needed help or assistance. As Christians we're reminded acts of kindness and slow to anger. I was finding it hard not to be snippy as this is not my nature to be verbally ugly, I think some of us are becoming desensitized to anyone other than ourselves. I've been on the other side of this and matter and would ask or offer assistance to customer's when I was working at a task. But, even then I'd stop and at least acknowledge a person/person's. The young man who checked me out apologized yet, will this correct the matter of treating some customer's as...
