I wish I could give them -10 stars. Worst experience I ever had trying to return an Amazon package since apparently Kohl’s is not taking amazon returns now. There was one person in front of me when I walked in. The first thing the guy says to me is “it’s going to be 5 to 10 minutes before I can help you.” Then he proceeds to go over and get two large boxes to replace the ones that are on the floor with hardly any Amazon packages in them. He throws the boxes across the way and then tapes them together. Then a customer comes up to the other side of his counter to make a purchase and asks him a question and notices me standing there just watching and taking the whole unbelievable scene in. Then she says “oh have you been waited on?” I proceeded to tell her that he told me it was going to be a 5 to 10 minute wait for me to return my Amazon package. Then the lady at the only register open, with no one in line says “oh I can help you over here.” Then the guy starts telling me about all the Kohls stores closing and what a huge business mistake it was for Amazon and blah blah blah. So sad that you can’t get good help these days. This guy must have been there only applicant. He has NO customer service skills at all. He doesn’t act like he wants to be there. He should appreciate that Amazon packages are being returned there since Staples hardly has any customers when I go by there. At least he has something to do all day. Read moreCustomer service in the Battle Creek,MI Staples is NON-existant. They deserve a ZERO stars rating. In my opinion, the store manager, MARK, is worthless. I drove over an hour to get there (I arrived at 5:32pm, on 6/18) I asked for assistance. I needed 3-4 copies of an 8x10 picture on 'specialty' paper rather than regular copy paper. I was rudely informed that they DON'T "do" orders if it's less than an hour before closing (they close at 6pm). They further informed me I could use the self-serve copy machine. I asked if I could purchase specialty paper to put in the machine. Again... I was told no. I explained I had driven over an hour to get there... it didn't matter. They said it was POLICY not to accommodate if there was less than an hour left before closing. REALLY?? SERIOUSLY??? You can't let a person choose a higher grade of paper above regular copy paper & have THREE (maybe 4) stinkin copies made?? If this is TRULY a fact; Headquarters should make that ABUNDANTLY, HUGELY CLEAR to customers on your Website. What a huge waste of my time and gasoline to drive over an hour for this -what SHOULD HAVE BEEN- a simple, easily manageable request. Oh, ...and yeah ... they DID offer to put a "rush" on it for tomorrow morning. If THAT wasn't the most asinine to say, knowing I'd driven over an hour to get there. Yep. I Walked out un-served after calling ahead to ask if my laptop (that I had purchased from these guys 2 yrs ago) could be backed up and reset, would there be an up front charge? Over phone questions were answered yes we can fix it, and no, no up front charge.
I said I'd be there in 25 minutes - driving in from Marshall. I arrived 30 minutes later after navigating through a serious road accident involving fire trucks and ambulances... and the guy At front desk was in sloth mode, took about 5 minutes to see if he could do it, then he fially decided to call the tech. The tech, whom I spoke with over phone, took another 10 minutes to respond and neither could come right out and say if it could be fixed or not, well not till tomorrow morning..when what? Another tech would come? Then they reinforced that it would not be able to be kept overnight -unless I pay for fixing it up front..regardless of what they knew needed fixing now, so how to know what to charge????. It was like talking to two liars. Nothing said over the phone even matched up with what was actually what they do..
Is there a kinder, smarter, more servicable Staples Store somewhere...
