Asian Buffet Hibachi Grill — Restaurant in Battle Creek

The customer service here is atrocious!!😵‍💫😵‍💫😡🤨 The sign on the door says they close at 9pm on Sundays, but when we got there at 7:30-ish, they began putting food away and cleaning up like they were closing early. While my daughter was getting her first plate of food, one of the workers stood almost on top of her like she was in the way only to wipe the counter down as my daughter walked uncomfortably and quickly away--- is there such a thing as personal space anymore???🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️. So we were seated by one lady, had our plates picked up by a gentleman who said to let him know when we were finished so he could bring our check (around 8pm, mind you) and then had another woman who brought our check and then waited impatiently for the $$ to pay. She then proceeded to act irritated that I had paid excat change and left the bill platter on the table for me to leave a tip on!!😵😵😵😵 Please don't get me wrong, I have been a waitress more than once in my life so I understand what it means to tip and I always do so accordingly. But when the hostess seats me, the bus boy takes my plates and the waitress shows up only at "tip time", I don't feel as though I owe her anything as she didn't wait on us in ANY compasity!! Mind you, we are also at a buffet, so she did not have to take our order, nor bring us our food. This place has decent food, but the prices are pretty rough on the weekends. I only decided to come to dinner here to celebrate my daughter on the closing night of her play at her request. It was disappointing at best, for us both--definitely not a celebration destination 😔😡😔 Putting food away while we were getting our first plates was a total bummer, but I tried to be understanding. But the kicker!!??!! When we got out to the car after we were done-- it wasn't even 8:30pm yet!!😡😡😡 Not even close to worth the $40 I payed for the 2 of us (we drank water even!!!😵😵😵) Not recommended for anything other than maybe a senior priced lunch....... Sincerely bummed and truly regretting spending my hard earned money this way...

9 out of 10 times going here the food isn’t hot, it’s not even warm. Waiter or waitress rarely comes by to check on your drinks, there’s been times that they would pick up the plates and not even bother to ask if you need a refill when your cup is empty and sitting out in the open by the edge of the table. Was last there a couple weeks ago, grabbed a plate, there was still food stuck on the plate. When we got our bill I gave the waitress my debit card, she took it and charged us the amount of the bill. A few minutes later when we were leaving she started chasing us down because the bill was messed up. We explained to the cashier that the bill had already been paid and he sat there telling me to change the amount of the tip to cover what he had messed up on the bill. I told him multiple times the bill was already paid and he just kept pointing at the receipt telling me to add more to the tip but would not explain anything just kept pointing to the tip telling me that I needed to put a certain amount. Then the hostess got involved asking what was going on. I explained to her that he was trying to make us pay more and not explaining anything at all. She started claiming that English is his second language and asked him in Chinese what was going on. Then she told us that he had messed up on our bill and that we had to pay more to cover the portion of the bill that he messed up even though we had already paid the bill. They refused to let us leave until I changed the tip to the amount that he kept saying. We were also not the only ones that the cashier messed up on the bill for. There was a small group that was given their bill and then a few minutes later was told their bill was 20 dollars more. Will not be going there again and I wouldn’t recommend...

If I could give 0 starts, I would. When you go to a restaurant...most people expect to be treated with respect and have a safe environment for your family. Well at Asian Buffet in Battle Creek, MI...they don’t abide by those same guidelines. My family and I went for dinner tonight and we were treated like dirty under their shoes. My boyfriend went to wash his hands and saw an employee use the restroom and not wash his hands. Shane went to the counter to tell the manager as that is very unsanitary and just disgusting. When the manager confronted the employee they started pointing at our booth where my daughter, Shane and I were trying to enjoy our dinner. Then, the employee (who didn’t wash his hands) and other employees confronted Shane, in front of everyone, as he was walking up to get more food. They not only started a scene and disrupted everyone’s meals, but they also ostracized our family and told us we were lying. As if that wasn’t enough...the party sitting in the next booth over were very vulgar in their conversations. Even after explaining to them we have our 5 year daughter with us and she doesn’t need to be subjected to that kind of language...they continued. Needless to say our family will not be returning to this restaurant because with all that happened, the manager did nothing but say “okay” when we told them we were not paying and won’t...
