Lee's Lock & Safe — Local services in Encinitas

We have had chronic problems with the alignment of our front double doors. In order to get a good seal, we needed extra weather stripping, but this meant it's too tight when trying to close the door or trying to release the lock. I called Lee's Lock & Safe thinking they would recommend a complete replacement of the astragal and locking hardware. Instead, Dale showed up on time, closely examined the door, clearly explained what he found, and proposed a solution (remove the inner edge of the weather stripping). There was no charge for the visit. I tried his suggestion and the door is much improved! If we need more work on our doors or locks, we'll check...

Lee's Lock & Safe is WONDERFUL. I first used them over 20 years ago on a large and complex estate project, and that went perfectly. So, recently I was helping a friend in Rancho Santa Fe with her large property, and called Lee's Lock & Safe. Hate to diss a local favorite. Know they do great locksmithing work, but disappointed about recent visit for simple key duplication. At first they didn't have blanks for mailbox key. Returned a few days later. 2 keys cut, but neither worked. (something about foreign locks...hmmm) Schlage house key duplicate didn't work either (comment about not being able to duplicate from HomeDepot duplicate...hmmm). Money refunded, but should have gone to HD first. In and out in 15min with keys that worked and...
