Helping Hands of Ennis — Local services in Ennis

If things changes for good, I’ll come back here to also write down the updates. I give 5 stars to this establishment and the owner because of the great support to humanity, the owner, donors and all the workers sincerely supporting the goal of this great organization will remain blessed all the days of their lives. This one star is for the lady at the office for being so unfriendly and rude. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns about the treatment I have received at the food pantry. This pantry has been a blessing to my family and me, as we struggle with bills and living expenses. We are deeply grateful for the support provided, and we always express our thanks and pray for the day we can give back and support this good work to bless others.

However, I have encountered an issue with one of the staff members that I believe needs to be addressed. The woman (seats in the office in Ennis) in question has consistently been unfriendly towards me. She never responds to my greetings, and her demeanor is always cold when interacting with me. This behavior stands in stark contrast to her interactions with others, where she is often seen talking and smiling.

During my last visit, I was asked to fill out a new form and bring proof of income, to which I agreed. Subsequently, the woman changed the instructions, telling me to apply for government food stamps (SNAP) and bring the response before I could receive any more food from the pantry. I complied with her request, but I can't help but feel singled out and discriminated against due to my background.

This food pantry is a divine project that brings so many blessings to the givers and should be a place where God's amazing grace dwells. It should not be a place where individuals face alleged discrimination or unfriendly behavior based on race or any other factor.

I kindly ask for your assistance in addressing this issue. It is important that the pantry remains a welcoming and supportive environment for all who seek its help. I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope for a resolution that ensures fair and respectful treatment for everyone.

Leave it up to me they wouldn’t get no stars from me. But I have to at least give 1. This is a place that’s suppose to help those who are in need at the moment. I mean when you hold an organization to help people & the name of the business is suppose to hold just that! But unfortunately I was told I was choosing to go to school instead of working when I go to school and have a job smh. You go inside they have all this Godly stuff but yet I was Judge wrongfully which in the Bible your not suppose to judge any one especially if your not Speaking facts. I strongly feel they pick and choose who they want to help and their reasoning’s does NOT make any type of sense. Never had to have to ask for groceries bf when in need! Bc my son in law cant provide food for his wife or me!
