New to the area from Dallas & wanted to check this place out. It was an early mid day lunch out on the patio. The decor is creative & seating is comfortable. Mom ordered from the lunch menu, enchilada Verdes & myself, the Tex-Mex plate. The chips are different, they have a hard crisp, almost to the point of stale but we went with it. The two salsas are pretty good, one spicier than the other that is more traditional. Plating had great presentation. Mom's Verde enchiladas had chicken and like the meat in my taco/enchilada, really lacked any seasoning. The only real flavor came from the sauces on top; I added salsa to my taco. The refried beans were actually pretty flavorful too, the rice was fluffy, not dry. Overall, nothing spectacular about what we ordered. Service is hovering at best, average. I've noticed a trend of restaurants really supercharging the prices of beverages & the sad sign of the times as mom's Mexican Coke cost $4.50 (32%) of her $13.00 lunch plate. The more added insult is that a 3% surcharge was added to run the credit card! These pricing practices do not seem practical or conducive to restaurant operations in this economic climate especially when you want to retain your customer base & have repeat business. At the bottom of the receipt, your invited to "join our (loyalty program) with this receipt." There is no link, no email address, not even the restaurants website is listed. Fine, so when you go to the webpage, there is [nothing] about a loyalty program anywhere on the site, which in itself is a joke tbh. Needless to say, we will move on to another competitor that is not just average, but more elevated & consumer pricing conscious..... ~CCG

I ordered (to go) vegetarian fajitas and repeated several times only vegetables, NO MEAT. I also ordered a side of sour cream, that wasn't in our bag. I had ordered a second meal as well and we did not receive the charo beans on either order. We got home, got settled in with our dinner and movie, I take a nice big bite of veggies and it's full of Ham ( looked more like bacon). I called the restaraunt and they said I needed to bring it back right now or they couldn't do anything for me. They never once said they were sorry. They were very rude. I told them I'd come the next night as I was too tired to go back out. They insisted I couldn't get a replacement if it wasn't the same night. I called the next night, expalained what he had happened and ready ordered my meal. When I got there, the gal at the register told me that she had rung it up and I needed to pay for it. I told her I'd be happy to cancel my credit card payment from the night before as it was their mistake, not mine. I took the meal, told them we would not be back. Still no sour cream or charo beans in the order. Terrible customer service. Not going back.

I just stopped here for a late lunch as I was passing through headed to Dallas. I am soooo glad to have found this place! I love finding unique and cute places and this was one of them!! When you walk up, the host stand is outside and then they ask if you'd like to eat outside or inside. I after seeing how beautiful it was outside and on such a nice day out, chose to eat outside. The decor is gorgeous! The chairs were custom painted and etc and all different. There was tvs outside too although I didn't pay any attention to them. I was busy watching the birds. The waitress was super kind! She didn't have a name tag so I can't say who she is. But she was super sweet and attentive. I ordered queso and then beef fajitas with flour tortillas, rice and Charro beans. I wasn't a fan of their chips personally as they tasted maybe a little stale... but the charro beans and rice was great. The fajitas yall... they weren't like any I've ever had before! They were extremely tender and juicy as if I was eating a roast!! Super good! I love the place! They're amazing!

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE!! If I could of left a -0 I would of! The worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my entire life! First of all it took 20 min to even get our drinks, when people who arrived way after us got theres immediately!! Then when it came time for our food, everyone got their except my father we were not told his was running late nothing! Server didn’t even realize his food was missing from our table Until we had to ask for his food! 20 min after EVERYONE else was done eating his food was delivered an we were told “oh the cook messed your first one up so we had to remake it” which would of been nice to know when ALLLLLLL the other food hit our table! Not only that my mothers Poblano pepper wasn’t even cooked!! It was so raw you couldn’t even cook into it! She ate one maybe 2 bites out of it an couldn’t even chew the rest! When it came time for the checks we asked they be removed considering the fact my fathers food was over 20 min late to getting to us an hers was in no way even eatable! We were told the manager said “he couldn’t take it off because she’s already ate off of it! An he got his food” So I asked to speak to a manager an was told “he’s busy in the back” UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! First of all the pepper is covered in stuff so how was she to know it was not cooked unless she ate a piece or two of it to figure that out!!? Second when the entire table is done eating THEN the last person gets his food a manager should of come an apologized to my father that his food was 20 min late getting to him. And Third if a customer is requesting to speak to you, you finish up what ever you’re doing an come settle the Situation! I’ve worked for a restaurant for almost 10 years an never in that time have I had a manager treat his paying customers that Way! Then after ALL that we asked for our checks and after another 10-15 minutes I had to go ask the cashier to print them out instead because our server was still not back with them! My Parents paid $60 + for food they couldn’t even eat an had to eat alone due to it not being there in a timely manner! We spent 2 HOURS there WAITING just trying to set down for a nice lunch!!? WE WILL NEVER BE BACK DUE TO THE SERVICE AND HOW THE MANAGER CHOSE TO TREAT US! An I will make damn sure anyone an everyone who asks me about this “restaurant” will be told how we were treated an NOT to even bother...

We've tried El Mexicano in two other cities and seem to be getting the same results. The service is just plain terrible! And in keeping with tradition, this last time was no exception. Upon arrival we were seated and a few minutes later our drink order was taken followed by our drinks being brought to the table and our orderbeingtaken. (Here's where it starts getting ugly). After a little over 30 minutes, our waitress comes back to our table and says, 'are you ready for your check?" Well we thought she was kidding but she wasn't. So we told her that we haven't even received our food yet. To which she made a cringy face and stormed off. By the time we finally got our food, we had already been there going on close to an hour. And when the food arrived, my wife asked for an extra serving of shredded cheese but the cheese never arrived. But it was definitely on the bill? So I confronted the waitress about it and the extremely long wait for our food and her excuse for the cheese and long wait was, "you do see how many people are here right?". So I asked to see the manager and some young lady plots up to our table with a new receipt minus the cheese charge. No apology for the inconvenience and tons of good ol' excuses for her waitress. And it made me feel like she was saying, well there are a lot of people here so deal with it. And in a rude tone no less. So I proceeded to tell her that in any kind of business. You're only as good as your manager. And employees actions will always be a direct reflection of management. The food was great. But the service and treatment of customers totally ruined the whole experience. So, an enthusiastic two thumbs down 👎 👎. For better service try taco bell. And I would strongly encourage avoiding this place until real and professional management is employed. In closing, if you use a credit or debit card here, you're charged an additional fee. What's next, a fee for choosing to patronize the place? Again, the food was good.....but...

Let's start with drinks. There was slight language barrier and the waitress wasn't understanding my common and simple questions. What is the house tequila for 1.. This Q lead to me asking if they have jose silver.. she didn't know that either. BTW, the menu tells you nothing about the drinks. Another server comes to assist. While everything was taking forever, seriously like 10 mins to get us waters, and that did NOT include my kids cups. Finally I get my rita.. it has a similar taste as a top shelf where Grand Marnier is often added. Thats not a regular Rita like I had asked for. So after not seeing my server for a few, I went to look for the bar. Stopped at a counter and a lady helped me, as I found my server there too. She explained that ALL the Rita's, even the house has some presidente brandi. After being the service industry for over 20 yrs, I found this odd and explained to her what I wanted. Finally got my drink and boy was it weak sauce! The 1st 1 was like slap ya in the face super sweet liquor and the next tasted like sweet n sour on the rox. We ordered tableside guac. It wasn't made at the table and well.. it was so half a$$ed. Cilantro was barely mixed in, I think they might have put black pepper in it too. Weird and unpleasant.. I ordered the shrimp cocktail. To which I took 2 bites and switched plates with mother. I dont know how many times or for how long the shrimp was cooked but it so dead it was nearly Jerky! Tough, yet slightly chewy with a very dry almost powdery texture. I have had alot of shrimp in my time and ive never traded my shrimp at a restaurant till today. With the server disappearing, the poor quality food and sickly sweet margarita additives....This poor place needs some serious help. Even looking up on the patio the decking area has been sprayed with something black and it looks unattractive. I hate to see places with all these problems. As of my 3rd visit now.. I dont plan to visit again...
