Northwest Safe — Local services in Enumclaw

Full Review: I've had my safe for about 6 months now and am very happy with it. I started looking for a new gun safe back in November of 2023. I was using a small cheap safe I got off Amazon and was quickly running out of room in it. I was originally planning on buying a Cannon or Bighorn Safe from Costco, but after watching some of Northwest Safe’s YouTube videos on Chinese made safes vs American made, I decided to go with a Liberty safe. Yes, I know some people are boycotting them because of the whole factory lock code sharing issue which is why I didn’t register mine.

Because they were semi local to me and I found their videos so informative, I decided to reach out about ordering. They were incredibly helpful with answering my questions and providing detailed information such as diagrams and dimensional specs as I wanted to make sure they would fit in the location I had chosen. I spoke mainly with Jessica and she was awesome. She even sent me short videos of the safes on the floor so I could see some details that were missing from the product photos.

I ordered the safe when it went on sale in January and scheduled delivery for March as I needed to prep the space for the new safe. Delivery was very smooth and everything went really well. Chris and Ryan did a great job getting the safe up the front driveway and stairs and into place. I ended up bolting it down myself as I wanted to reinforce the flooring before anchoring it and couldn’t really do that well without the safe installed. However they had given me the bolt sizing I would need to do it and it was a fairly easy process.

I kind of stumbled across NW Safe while shopping for a safe on the Liberty Safe website. I was researching and wanted to see how much delivery and installation of a safe would cost. Liberty indicated NW Safe would be the delivery company, so I went directly to the NW Safe website and discovered NW sold the Liberty safes cheaper than the Liberty site, and delivery was slightly cheaper as well!

I took the time to drive down and visit the showroom, so I could actually see what I would be purchasing. I was immediately greeted by a gentleman I later learned was the owner. Everyone else was busy so he showed me the models I was interested in. He also recommended getting a bigger one than I thought I would need because a large number of customers come back later for a bigger safe. He was very knowledgeable about the safes and explained the the different construction and designs of various safes. There were also demo safes that had destructive testing performed on them to look at, as well as the video of the testing. After deciding on the size and model, Kael performed the actual sales transaction. The delivery date was set up for the following week and Kael let me know what to expect.

My safe was delivered today. Gary and Danny delivered and installed the safe. They were both friendly and professional. Installation was easy for them with their fancy hand truck and "slider sticks." Gary walked me through the operation of the safe, changing the combo to my own and the importance of registering the safe.

After having a terrible delivery experience with the last safe I purchased from a different (out of state) company, I decided to go with a local dealer. Couldn't have had a better buying experience. I ended up calling in the order because they were running a special on phone orders, I dealt with Karen and she made the ordering process very pleasant, she answered every question I had. I picked a popular safe in a popular finish so I did have to wait a few weeks for delivery, but that's really where Northwest Safe Company really shined. I spent the extra money for in-house delivery and it was worth every penny. It was scheduled for 11/19 between 7-9am, a little before 7am I got a text saying they would be there between 7:15 and 7:30am. They showed up at 7:15 on the dot, both of the guys (Gary & Jon) that showed up were very professional and friendly, they had some clever tools I hadn't seen before that made the delivery quick and easy (miles above the hand truck the previous delivery crew had). Once the safe was placed where I wanted it and leveled, Gary went through the basic operation of the lock and how to change the code (I went with the E-lock). The whole process took about 40 mins (this included removing a door by the hinges and replacing it). The safe itself (I went with a Liberty Lincoln 35, and like the service) exceeded my expectations, the finish is dead on (if not better than) the website pictures, and all the features that came with it are definitely worth the extra money.
