Today I was in shopping for the first time in probably a year. So lots of fun stuff to look at and see. I had picked out 5 things and the last thing (this little yellow cream/milk holder for your table) there was two of them identical and side by side. One had a price of $9.99 and the other had a price of $29.99. On the way to the register to ask I had taken the $29.99 sticker off and it was on the end of my finger tip. I went up to the lady with both identical items and said this one is $9.99 and this one had this sticker (showed her my finger tip) could you tell me the correct price. She said no problem I can just scan the barcode. As she was doing that an owner (I know because he announced himself as such) came up to the counter and not quietly asked me why I was removing stickers from the merchandise. I explained what I just explained to you guys .. (by the way Iām holding my other 4 items.. a purse, two coin purses and one other thing I canāt remember) and he literally says āwell Iām assuming the $29.99 tag came from the purse! I am shocked, humiliated and embarrassed as itās 6 in the evening and the store is busy and people are literally staring at this point⦠so I silently hold up the purse with the tag that reads $34.99..MORE EXPENSIVE THAN $29.99.. he then got quiet and looked at me and thanked me for understanding⦠now these things always happen so fast and I didnāt really understand the whole thing when it was happening as far as what they were trying to imply.. my only guess is that I was trying to get something cheaper?? What item that would be still has me completely confused.. but it was really really embarrassing and has been bothering me ever since. We (my family) has 8 stores in Oregon and I canāt imagine treating people this way with out simpler NICELY asking some questions first.. not at the front of the store in front of everyone.. I understand if it was about a theft concern .. on 18th Iām sure they deal with a lot of that⦠BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY STEVEN⦠WHEN YOU ASSUME YOU MAKE AN ASS OUT OF YOU AND IT FELT LIKE YOU MADE AN ASS OUT OF ME AND IT DIDN'T FEEL GOOD. My ex husband was out in the marking lot and had to me fill me in on what maybe they thought was evening going on cause I had no idea .. not exactly what I consider...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had never went into this store as we just moved to the area. I had been wanting to go for awhile my partner had told me there were some cool things in there Iād like. While the selection was really cool and there were lots of neat things the supervisor Natalie ruined my entire trip and I ended up putting back 15-20$ worth of stuff I was buying. When my partner and I were almost done shopping I sent them to the neighboring safeway to pick up some butter. Natalie decided to start yelling at them accusing of stealing a 2$ plug converter which I had in my hands in another part of the store!!! She then made them walk back to the back of the store where I was and when she saw I did indeed have the item in my hand she couldnāt even be bothered to say Iām sorry. I understand Eugene has shoplifting problems and some people are up to no good so you have to check and ask, but when youāre wrong a SORRY could go a long way. I took my other items up to the front counter where Natalie and a nicer older lady working the register were checking out an elderly gentleman. They were all talking trash on my partner who was visibly upset by being profiled like that. We did NOT have large bags or back packs. I didnāt even have a purse only a small wallet on me. Natalie even told my partner they needed to leave the store, because they told Natalie it was rude and they should make sure someone is actually stealing before harassing a customer. Heck we even asked one of the guys who works there where the plug in converters were located!!!! If we were gonna steal a 1.99 plug in converter for our apartment why would we ask to me taken to it by an employee????? Also I am the one who found the plug in converter with out their help and was the one carrying it throughout the store. Natalie, you really need some customer service training, because basically...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHirons has both everything and nothing you need. The store is cramped due to them carrying the sheer amount of stock that they do. The organization of the aisles themselves is something that you've just got to learn yourself after repeated visits. Any time I walk into a new Hirons, I feel lost all over again. I'm maybe 60% of the way to remembering the layout of this one so far. Hirons is where you go for daily necessities like toilet paper, glue, envelopes, and cleaning supplies as well as knick knacks for Instagram aesthetic posts, like unicorn journals, a cheese grater shaped like the Mona Lisa, succulents, snarky post it notes, etc. Any time a relative is in town, I always take them to Hirons because it has everything they might need in terms of souvenirs as well as generally being a fascinating experience if you're from out of state. Hirons is cheap but not the cheapest. You can get a fair amount of the daily necessity things like organizers and cleaning supplies at dollar stores for less. If you're a college student on a budget, I recommend a dollar store over hirons-- unless you're looking for a pen shaped like a cactus in which case hirons is...
