I had the worst experience here today. I had high hopes for this store as it was recommended to me by another local business whom I trust. I came in to sell a ring, and when entering the store, I was immediately met with a lack of customer service or friendliness. The first person to look at my ring looked at my diamond carefully. He verified its authenticity, and stated that he felt it would sell well. After looking it over, he said “I can offer you $1100 cash for it.” There was another woman at the checkout being paid, and he stated I would be paid next. I stated that sounded fair for the piece and he asked me if I wanted to have a second person at the store take a look as a second opinion. I said “No thank you, I am comfortable with that offer and would like to sell it.” He then very rudely said, “Well, I want a second opinion for myself!” This was extremely off putting in itself, as he had already made me an offer that I accepted and his demeanor had changed so abruptly. The second man walked over (I am guessing he was the owner) and very quickly looked at my ring. He never once spoke to me or even looked at me. He instead made a gesture to the first man. The man who had just offered me the $1100 for my ring scoffed and said “It’s not for us. We don’t want it.” I was completely shocked and devastated as I had just been told I would be receiving $1100 for my ring. I stated, “Can you please explain why?” And he laughed and said, “No, it’s not for us.” He refused to explain any further, would not offer an alternative recommendation for where to go, and didn’t even apologize for his offer no longer being available. I took my ring and became tearful as I left the store. I was shown no respect, compassion, or even basic dignity.

I am sorry to read the other reviews that others were treated this way. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I wasn’t even treated like a human being, and after verifying that my ring was authentic and of value, I was treated as if I was not worth being looked at. I left feeling degraded, disrespected, and hurt by their behavior.

My first experience here was fantastic. I brought in some scrap gold, which included a 10k badge pin, necklaces, earring backs in both white and yellow gold, and other mixed items. I was helped by a friendly lady who scanned each item, wrote down the prices, and clearly explained how everything was calculated. I really appreciated the transparency and walked out feeling happy with the whole process. I was excited I might have found a solid place to regularly scrap the gold I get through my estate liquidation business.

Unfortunately, my second visit a week later wasn’t the same. I was helped by a guy who used the XRF scanner again, which I appreciated. But when I said I wanted to scrap what was tested, he passed me to another man who immediately questioned one of my pins, saying it might be filled and not 10k, even though it was marked 10k and the scanner just read it as 10k. Before even telling me what he’d pay if it were solid, he filed into it aggressively, right over the hallmark, and did an acid test. Once it confirmed 10k, he gave me a price that was lower than I expected. And at that point, the pin was scratched up enough that I didn’t really want it back — it was definitely scrap now.
