This is a ceramics painting and glass art making studio. I've been here several times and I've only ever done the ceramics painting portion. Some of the employees are personable and are helpful.
For the ceramics painting, you'll enter the store and see blanks to paint. There is an assortment of items to choose from (banks, dishes, containers, letters, tiles, etc.) and they vary in pricing (Roughly $8 and up). Whoever is working will give you the run through and help you select colors and put them in a little palette. Now if you want to use more than 6 colors, you are welcome to, you'll just have an extra palette to take back to your table. I've been here enough that they let me get my own paint. After you're done with your masterpiece, you leave it with them to be fired and glazed. You get to come back in about a week to pick up your hand painted artwork!
Usually once a month, they have a ladies night here. It's $5 plus whatever ceramics you paint. There's no theme or event, so you can come by yourself or with some lady friends.
This location is on Washington Road, but they also have another location on Broad Street, if that's more convenient for you.
The only reason why I give it 4/5 stars is because some of their items are a little more pricier than desired. There's another similar studio in Aiken (with a really dumb name) that has a lot of the same items for the same price or cheaper (like several dollars cheaper per item). But Artsy Me is convenient and the...
Read moreI just left with my 9 year old and 2 and 3 year old. I definetly acknowledge that it might not be the best activity for my toddlers but my 9 year old enjoys art. While I went to take my toddlers to the bathroom they came and took away my toddlers paint, the brushes and the water. My oldest stated she said âoh you mixed the paintsâ. She told her she would bring her more water and did not return. I definetly did not feel welcome and the majority of the things my two year old wanted to paint was not available. When I asked if they had one of the cars displayed their answer was over there. I expected better customer service overall. I wanted to try it out before booking my 3 soon to be 4 year old bday party. Definetly will not be doing that. When I called to inquire about the appropriate age they stated that the 3 year old was a perfect age. Obviously not after bringing them in. My 9 year old was disappointed she did not bring back the water and...
Read moreWent here for a "Sip and Paint" experience with some friends. Didn't realize we would be painting pottery instead of pictures. This was a nice outing and something different to do although I would have enjoyed the opportunity to pour/mold my own pieces rather than select from already created selections. Staff were very helpful with paint selections and the location was roomy enough for our small group of women to spread ourselves out and socially distance ourselves well. Cost of pieces seemed pricey, but since there was no additional costs for the paint, firing/glazing and the experience, the $30 I paid for the planter I chose to paint was reasonable. Would...
