I’m not one to give reviews, especially not negative ones. But I figure this may be the only way to get through. I am standing my ground. The greeter at the Evansville, IN store felt the need to make a scene. We shop at this store several times a month. We haven’t even had our membership for a full year yet and to be honest, I’m not sure we will keep it. We love the savings, the organic selections, the rewards.....but I’m not sure any of it is worth it for the nonsense that occurred today. Since the pandemic policies have been in place, my husband and I have worn our masks inside the store without any push back. On occasion, a greeter would ask if our daughter, who just turned 5, has a mask, to which we have always replied, “No, she does not wear masks, thank you”. To which they have always replied something along the lines of, “Ok, have a nice day” and we proceed to shop and have a pleasant experience. UNTIL TODAY! Today, the greeter harassed us about our little girl not having a mask, offered one to which we politely rejected, she then offered a face shield, to which we politely rejected. She proceeded to point to the sign of their policy and said that we cannot shop if we would not comply. I pushed the cart with my daughter and 6month old on into the store and began to shop as my husband held back and reasoned that we have always been allowed to shop, we have never been harassed like this, etc. She called the manager. My husband asked the manager what they do in cases of asthma, anxiety, autism, etc? She told him that up until November, they were allowing people with medical exemptions to shop inside the store but they no longer do that and offered to shop for us and bring it out to our car. My husband asked her what would happen if we went ahead and finished our shopping. She said that they’ve never encountered that at their store before but that some Costco stores had actually called the police to remove people from the store. So my husband said, “Do what you need to do” and came to finish shopping with us (we were halfway done with our shopping by this time). My daughter was pretty upset and didn’t understand why there was such conflict happening and felt it was her fault. I reassured her that it was ok and it is none of anyone’s business why she cannot wear a mask and not to feel bad. We were obviously upset because who likes confrontation? We finished our shopping, the manager was waiting at the checkouts and insisted on personally ringing us out. All this to say, we will hold onto our membership for now because maybe they were having an off day, but I highly recommend that their employees take a break outdoors, enjoy some fresh air, allow the sunshine into their soul, and revel in the fact that they live in the land of the free and home of the brave. I don’t expect coupons or compensation or freebies.... but I DO EXPECT equal respect when we come through...

Read moreCostco Tire Center: I brought my car into the Costco Tire center in Evansville, Indiana because my sister and mom recommended them for a minor issue like a flat tire. One of my tires was flat and I suspected may need a repair since it was in good condition otherwise.
I scheduled an appointment but arrived 10 minutes late and waited for a rep to assist me at the counter. The person, David, said that they were finishing up two cars and mine would be accessed soon. I was asked to pay $14 upfront for the repair before I even handed him the keys. I paid the amount but not before questioning it since I’ve never paid for any mechanic service before the actual service. David said it was policy so I paid and restated my reason for being there, a bad tire which may be repairable or need to be replaced.
Another rep rolled my tire out to me to show a nail stuck on the side. He said it was not repairable and they could replace it. I understood and told him I’d like to get the exact tire to match my others, and would go elsewhere since Costco does not stock that specific brand of tire. After they placed my tire back on, they proceeded to remove another tire. I told David I did not want them to do anything else to my car and to please stop. David said they are required to check and tighten all the lugnuts and I did not have a say in the matter. They continued to remove the the other two tires.
This made me very uncomfortable and in a state of disbelief. I’m concerned about the representative’s actions and him ignoring the customer’s request to not do anything else but check the flat tire of their own car.
I hope another customer does not experience this disregard of their reasonable and rightful request at this...
