What I did experienced there at Wasabi was under par. I went to enjoy what I thought was going to be an enjoyable lunch. It turned out nothing enjoyably about this lunch. I was minding my own business and a server that was not my server.kept coming by making rude comments. I finally asked what was that server’s name and her name was Melissa. My server was Dillon. He was exceptional after several altercations with this Melissa I tried to bring to the managers attention that this server Melissa was causing trouble during my lunch experience. The manager John which what I found out later was the owners step son, wanted me to contact with the general manager, Brittany. When the general manager would have nothing to do with it I said I would want to speak with the owner. The owner didn’t want to deal with the situation and interact. I literally found out he was out of town -out of the country and couldn’t deal with his dealings of both restaurants of Evansville and Owensboro. I can’t believe the owner would go out of the country and let his subpar general manager Brittany try to handle the circumstance. My server Dillon was superb and was doing an excellent job and a other server, Melissa would come along and harass Dillon, and make it very uncomfortable for the whole table to the point where she made a broadcast that it was the table’s fault and not her fault which is beyond me. For some odd reason this chain was protecting this woman, which I don’t understand the politics, but I do know it will come back to haunt the restaurant. I would NOT come here!!! They are very rude and not wanting to...
Read moreTo start off my review I would simply say if you want to be treated with respect as a customer at this restaurant don’t get your hopes up. I placed a call to learn about the nutritional facts in some of the food items, and ingredients used. I ask this because I have a medical condition and I would need to know. However, the restaurant staff took it as a joke and the young girl who answered the phone even laughed at me, placing me on hold for long periods of time and just answered with the restaurant doesn’t have the nutritional facts. I found that odd as all restaurants usually have them or are able to tell you upon request. The girl laughed and stated she is just an employee, while I asked to speak to the manager she tells out on the phone Oh my God, clearly loud enough for me to hear. The man who was not the female manager I requested to speak to gets on the phone and proclaims himself as the assistant manager and tells me the female has left and can’t talk to me. I heard them say this is stupid and hangs up on me.
I went from being a perspective customer to encouraging everyone I know to never visit this restaurant at all. The culture and environment is not customer friendly. And restaurant very clearly has a lack of understanding of customer service.
I would rate this place a 0/10.
Even the manager couldn’t treat my concern with respect. I wonder if the owner would like to know their restaurant is being reflect in a way. Truly sad. There are other restaurants to go to, this just...
Read moreI went there in a group of 4 family members. The establishment was clean, however, service was insufficient. Our waitress seemed really green and not sure of things on the menu. I was disappointed when our sushi came out on a large wooden "boat", altogether, and not separated out. The waitress could not even tell us what the difference was between the sushi served so that we would know which one was which...The tab was expensive as well. I suggest going to Newburgh, to Ninki. The service is much better and the staff is friendly as well as knowledgeable as to what they are serving. I have been to Wasabi twice, the second time to give them another chance and was set with around the same atmosphere. I did not use the restroom so I do not know what condition it was in. I was not impressed with this establishment. The sushi is better and more affordable at Ninki. I have no link to Ninki besides being a patron. I will continue to drive to Newburgh, IN for better service. I will not be giving Wasabi another chance, unfortunately. I also find the prices to be a little on the higher end compared to the location of Evansville, IN. I would recommend a different establishment if you are looking for knowledgeable staff and affordable prices. I also did not appreciate my food being mixed in with everyone else as I have specific sushi that I order with soy paper instead of seaweed. ...
