ALDI — Local services in Evendale

So, Aldi has expanded their offerings quite a bit, from, like 10 years ago when I used to go there. Some amazing prices. $3.49 for 3 oz of smoked salmon, when I was paying $8.99 for 4 oz. of Kroger brand? And it's better and fresher. AND faster checkout with a real person. Bring a quarter for their grocery cart system! (New edit: There are fewer things that I buy here. Mainly, the smoked salmon (lox) Seedtastic bread, and the Lemon Sparkling Water. Taking away two stars because the cases of cans of water are always built in a cross hatched display with unflavored, some kind of berry flavor, grapefruit (which is not a good grapefruit flavor) and the lemon, which is the only one I like. So I have to do a lot of physical unstacking and restacking of cases of water to get the 3 to 4 cases of lemon flavor that I want. I mentioned it to the cashier, and he just said, "Oh that's corporate" or something. I don't know what they do with the left over other flavors, or maybe new people come in and buy whatever's on top, I don't know. But I always have to excavate to get the lemon ones, and although it is ok exercise, it is a bit dangerous to be unstacking an restacking a tower of heavy boxes like that, and I am surprised that Aldi is willing to take on the liability of making somebody rebuild their display every time. Just separate the flavors. I'm not going to buy flavors I don't want to...

We were doing a Door Dash order right as the place was closing. While working on said order, an employee, possibly the manager, Jessie asks if we’re doing Instacart or Door Dash. She very rudely asks how large the order was and says that we need to be done and out by 8:30 as they closed at 8. I really wanted to respond that it wasn’t our fault we were still shopping. I mean, I get that they were trying to close, but the tone she used was unnecessary. She could have offered to help us find the last few items we needed to make things go faster, but walks away and carries on with whatever she was doing. Thankfully, the cashier was very nice and the checkout was quick. Heads up to those doing orders for Instacart or Door Dash: be mindful of accepting orders around closing time at this location. You may end up encountering someone...

As with every Aldi, they have great prices and a good selection of products. They don't have 1000 brands of the same item, and this keeps the prices low than other grocery stores. This store doesn't have any self checkout machines installed yet (thank goodness). One issue I have with Aldi's is their checkout process. While I appreciate they want to move the checkout line fast, it almost seems like they wanna thow you out of their store.

At this store location however, while the checkout lanes are still manned, the staff is really nice...
