Suddenly, a memory sparked in my mind, I recalled spotting the sought-after snack, known as Choco Pie, at the nearby Cam International Market. Eager to share this exotic treat with my coworkers, I enlisted the company of my coworker, KK, and embarked on a culinary quest. Arriving at the market just after noon, despite lines of cars stretched along the way, the spacious parking lot had ample room for us to secure a spot without much effort. We promptly located the coveted snack near the checkout counters. Taking advantage of our time in the store, we decided to peruse the store's diverse array of products. The layout adhered to the customary structure of a grocery store, with an assortment of packaged Asian products, frozen goods, and miscellaneous curiosities ranging from toys to decorative pieces. To my surprise, European delicacies were also on offer. While the occasional spill dotted the clean floors, it was an expected occurrence in such busy grocery establishments. The faint aroma of seafood mingled with the fragrance of incense, creating a unique sensory experience. Our interaction with the elderly lady cashier, who possessed a charming but noticeably thick accent, was both swift and pleasant. Returning to our workplace, we commenced our Choco Pie tasting session. KK found immense amusement in his newfound discovery. However, AA, despite giving it a try, expressed a degree of indifference towards the snack. Meanwhile, PS voiced concerns regarding its relatively low sugar content, yearning for a sweeter indulgence. Nevertheless, the consensus leaned towards a positive reception, with no outright dislikes among us. As the instigator of this culinary quest, I deemed it a personal victory. Overall, I highly recommend Cam International Market to all seeking a unique and captivating shopping experience. Beyond the allure of its exotic offerings, the market generously gifts its patrons with complimentary Chinese calendars at the start of each new year, an enticing incentive to return and explore further. I have no doubt that I will return to this store...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to the store for a few goodies and bought a few Ramen bowels today! My overall experience here was good until we got to checkout.
We are checking out and a employee is bagging our groceries and bowls we bought. The employee put the bowels on top of each other and wrap the outside with newspapers. I begin to tell the employee that I will bag because I want to put newspaper in between the two bowls not just the outside!!!
To my surprise the employee beginning to freak out and say no I'll bag. Now this is a simple request! I told him no we got! He freaks out and starts yell that he knows how to do his job. I told him I don't doubt that but I'll Bag my own groceries! He freaks out and punches his hands together! Still yelling!!!
Now I beginning to yell and tell him it's not that serious take a walk before I complain to the manager. I have never experience this before in any kind of market. This all happen because I made a request to bag my own groceries and bowels! This is a loud confrontation and no manager supervisor step in! The employee begins to say he doesn't like when people tell him what to do and that he has autism. Which I'm like ok but you need control your anger because it a simple request. That behavior is not acceptable at all and the fact that a manager didn't step in to control the situation is pretty sad!
I have no problem with the employee having autism or anything of that nature. The managers should talk to him about his anger and explain to him that's it's ok if somebody wants to bag their own grocery and it's not a personal attack against him. The facts that's nobody step in while this guy was having an episode is WRONG! I myself am not hot headed that I was able to calm the situation down and walk away! I was mad and confused as to why it even turn into such a big thing for the employee I'm sure that could have turn physical if that was somebody else. Please talk to your employee about his anger and explain to him it's ok for customers to bag their...
Read moreI would give a zero star if I was able to. I shop every Friday at Cam, but this past Friday me and my husband were in the checkout line to make our purcahse. The customer ahead of us had a tremendous amount of groceries and, once all his items were bagged and rang up, was having an issue with their payment card. This is fine, those things happen, so we waited in line as the cashier and others attempted to rering all of the items. At this time a different person took over that transaction, and the original cashier opened another lane and began to wave the rest of the customers from the back of the line over to the new open lane.
I asked the cashier why she didn't ask me, the next person in line who had been waiting patiently, to go over to the next line instead of ringing out customers who had just entered the line. When I asked her about this decision, she began to give me horrible attitude and tell me that "this is how we do it here". I expressed to her that the reason I was unhappy was her decision to force to wait even longer while she checks out other customers, to which she threw her things down and said she wasn't going to serve me, that "this is ridiculous", as well as saying she was going to call the police on me for "insulting" her?
The cashier also took liberty to say some of these things in English, assuming I wouldn't understand, and only ended her tirade when I acknowledged that yes, I speak and understand English perfectly well. My family spends at least 300 dollars a week in this store, and that doesn't include my additonal family and friends; all of whom I have told about this experience, and none of whom will be contributing their spending power with to establishment until their customer service issues...
