I thought I would try this establishment for my son who was due for a cut. I arrived around 3:15, the front is worn down from the outside. $12 haircuts on the window. I had to go up to see if it was even open, I went inside and found the barber on the phone and in a game of call of duty. The inside is just cluttered dirty and obviously not kept up. After finishing his game but not his phone conversation he did sweep up before cut. I explained what I wanted for my son and this is where his east coast rudeness came through. We had a good conversation that was actually worth while. My son is 7 years old and he sat in that chair like an adult. As he was trying to freehand my sons front he called my kid annoying because his head was drifting. After getting home I had to to some trimming because the now $20 haircut that was apparently cash only was crooked and frankly not unbecoming of a legit barber. I had to use his cash machine that charged $3. I still tipped the man $5 for a $12 dollar cut that I was charged $20 for. Overall it was a lesson we learned and I will try another barber next time. I think the east coast attitude was supposed to be charming but it was anything but, think twice before taking kids to this...
Read moreI do Not recommend Definitionz on Broadway and 19th. I called ahead in December to see if he could cut my daughter's friend's hair " he is transgender was getting his first male cut" (I was giving the cut as a gift).I spoke with the Barber ahead of time to make sure he was ok cutting transgender hair, explaining it was the important first cut. He said he could do it if we hurried in, so we did. No mention of the fact it's a cash-only business causing me to have to run to a bank machine to get the cash,( at least I saved by not having to give a tip since it was the Worst customer service I've ever witnessed at a barber shop ), no mention that He would NOT be wearing a mask, or that 2 other people were there (They were not customers) who only wore masks part of the time. I would have left, but as he was already seated in the chair by the time I came in from parking the car, I didn't want to cause a scene. The cut was just OK, not what he was looking for, and the bad experience has made it so that he hasn't gone to a barber since. Definitely...
Read moreI had the worst experience. I went in to get a beard trim because my usual place was packed. I sat there for 20 minutes I was not greated or even talked to. I listen to the owner talk badly about white people the whole time. There was only 1 person there getting a haircut and the owner was the one giving the cut. He saw me sitting there and didn't even say hi. I waiting 20 minutes and until I was sick of hearing his negativity then with our saying anything I got up and walked out. I really hope that other people have better...
