Timeline of Events (Ekornes Order)... June 13, 2015 Saturday order placed with Dee, $2600 deposit paid. I was assured that the staff (Dee) would keep in touch every few weeks of the status of the furniture. She spoke of the timeline of around 8 weeks total and assured me status every few weeks. July 11, 2015, Week 4 no contact July 18, 2015 Week 5 after still no contact, stopped into store to see what the process was and asked why we have not gotten any calls⌠Response that day was it would be here within the next 30 days ( 8 week total timeframe) August 15, 2015 Week 9 after zero contact and a commitment of 30 days stopped into the store again. Again was told soon, should be just another week. August 17, 2015 finally received a call and was told it should be coming within the next two weeks that it was shipping now. Have date on sales slip of August 24 Week 10. (site won't let me post the pic) September 5, 2015 Week 12 and still no furniture⌠At this point there has been several false commitments to its arrival and the company has not meet their commitment of 8-12 weeks. I have had to make all the contact, the customer service at this point was Zero September 19, 2015 Week 15, clearly out of the committed timeline, we stopped into the store once again and this time asked for our deposit back. We spoke with Clay Erickson and he clearly lacks any sense of customer service. He is very arrogant, brash and unwilling to listen to our concerns. He was extremely condescending when we asked again for our $2,600 back. We tried to explain that we were the 3rd generation to support his familyâs business and that we hoped he would respect our loyalty. He laughed and said âtake me to court, I have never lostâ. That really says something to the reputation of a local business and the direction Clay Erickson is taking it. He even went as far as to yell when we asked to see the handwritten information on his copy of the paperwork. Upset that an owner would respond in such an unprofessional manner we left. September 21, 2015 two days later I received a voicemail from Clay Erickson, who did not mention his unprofessionalism from earlier in the week, said he was returning âmy callâ (I never called him) regarding the status of my furniture. He stated that the sofa was not manufactured prior to the annual closure of the company (Ekornes closes every July for the entire month (never disclosed)) in which he proceeded to throw his sales person, Dee, under the bus and blame her for not explaining the full month closure. He stated that he had called Norway and that the furniture was going to ship soon. Again, all we want at this point is our deposit back and be done with this. ď October 1, 2015 Week 16, (clearly out of scope) we received a call from Clay Erickson stating the sofa had arrived and was going to be unpacked. Because of the incredibly clear lack of customer service and respect for his familyâs business, this is not a business that my family will ever patronize again. All we want is our deposit mailed back to us. Ericksonâs furniture can easily sale (or maybe has) a black leather sofa. ď Today we just want to get the word out to our local community and of course all of our family/friends/local community the lack of professionalism and support from the latest generation of the...
Read moreWe had pretty specific requirements for our new couch in terms of length, recliner configuration, and wanting leather because it is the only thing impervious to our catsâ claws. We tried to find something on Wayfair or Amazon but it was overwhelming and nothing really grabbed us. So I searched locally and Erickson had great reviews for customer service. I texted them and Amanda got back to me. After some exchange of texts, I came in to the store to meet with Amanda. Masking was in force and handled gracefully, There was really only one manufacturer, Omnia, that could deal with our requirements. I was able to see and sit on samples of their work. Amanda had all of the configuration options at her fingertips so we were able to choose exactly the right thing. I was able to take home leather samples and my wife and I chose. We finalized the purchase over the phone and Amanda said it would take 6-8 months with all the supply chain problems. After about five months we got antsy and decided to cancel our order. Clay the owner got involved and called the manufacturer. However, it was too late to cancel because the frame was already built and custom leather already received. They were just waiting for the recliner mechanisms. Clay got a commitment to get the couch done in six months. Then lo and behold two weeks later our couch was delivered to Erickson! We appreciate the squeaky wheel effect combined with the ownerâs personal attention. When delivery day came we got a call first thing in the morning with a delivery window. They ran ahead of schedule and arrived about an hour early. The young men were masked, polite, careful, and efficient with assembly of the sections. When they left I stood back and looked at the effect in our room. I relaxed in my new recliner. Perfection. From beginning to end the experience with Erickson was exactly what we hoped...
Read moreThis is the second time we've had the privilege of purchasing furniture from Erickson's. But his timethey blew us away with customer service AND product!
We had just been summarily dismissed at a well know national furniture store when we asked to buy a TV console displayed on their floor. They told us they did now sell floor samples, and could order us one (which was fine) except the new consoles in that line were now a different color (darker brown as where the floor sample had gold and red tones, which is why we wanted it). But no matter how many ways we suggested we could purchase the floor sample, the answer was no, you cannot buy it. Pretty strange for a retail position.
Enter Ericksons: Not only did we find a better quality TV console for a great price, but Isbel, a delightful lady in sales at Erickson's, suggested (without us saying a word) that we take the floor sample since the wood grains and tones were unique to each piece, and she didn't want us to be disappointed receiving one not exactly like we had seen on their floor. HER IDEA!! We about fell over in the difference between efforts at customer satisfaction.
Needless to say, we are Erickson customers for life now. We are so grateful we didn't have to grovel and beg to get what we wanted. It was offered on a silver platter of courtesy and kindness. Thank you Isbel and thank you Erickson's. And congratulations on your 105 years of serving the Everett and surrounding...
