I had a great experience with the classes that I took at Everett CC. Unfortunately, I've had an awful experience with their enrollment office. I am in the process of transferring to a new school so I can complete my bachelor's degree. EVCC's 7-10 day time frame to process transcripts is absolutely insane. For reference, the university that I went to has sent every transcript that I have ordered from them within a few hours of placing the order. As far as I understand, it's as simple as hitting the submit button through National Student Clearinghouse and that's it. From my experience and what I've seen in quick Google searches, most schools process them quickly (less than 24 business hours) and they also offer a service for students to purchase expedited transcripts in the event of an urgent need, such as what I am experiencing.
The school that I am transferring to has a deadline that's rapidly approaching, and will be passing before EVCC's time frame to process them ends. I reached out to the enrollment office at EVCC to see if the transcript could be processed any quicker and offered to pay a fee or do whatever I needed to expedite it. Patty in the enrollment office emailed me back and stated that they're busy right now and that they'll get to my transcript when they can and sent me an unofficial transcript (which students can access from the student portal - I already had it and had already sent it to my new school, however they cannot use it). I emailed back and explained the importance of getting it sent as soon as possible because the only thing that the school I'm transferring to is waiting for is my EVCC transcript and if it's not received in time I will need to delay my enrollment. I also explained why an unofficial transcript was not viable for enrollment. Her response to me was that I could come into their office and pay a fee to expedite my transcript, they'll print it for me, and then I can overnight it to the school myself. However, it is not an official transcript if it is not sent directly from the issuing school, which I explained to Patty. The response I received was essentially that they do not mail transcripts purchased in person and that they'll process my transcript as soon as they can, but it won't be on time.
Because of EVCC's lack of good process and her lack of empathy, I will more than likely have to delay enrolling in my bachelor's program. What bothers me most, is that in the time it took her to look up and download my unofficial transcript and send me multiple emails stating that she cannot help me, she probably could have sent the transcript several times over. It feels as though she just wanted to argue with me rather than help. I was very polite and tried to be understanding, but I really don't...
Read moreI am a returning alumni and graduated a couple years ago with two degrees (prior to Covid). My experience with teachers, admissions, and the cashier and advisors was all really good back then. I felt like they all genuinely cared. Now hold on, because this is a bit of a rant but really important if you are considering this school or a returning student. I am currently returning to take one class that sounded fun and for some reason had to through the admission process again. So, it was ok up to there, but I discover that their customer service has gone down the toilet. BIG TIME. When I went before, everyone was so nice and picked up the phone and answered my questions in a timely manner. However, they now all hide behind email and it takes FOREVER to get anything done, even the simplest questions answered. Excuse after excuse after canned email response. Why do they have phone numbers at all? They won't even call me back, and my tuition is DUE! They also had the audacity to place me in open registration, when I have over 180 credits with them. And then wouldn't directly answer why my credits weren't worth anything anymore. I think the poorly trained staff just didn't want to deal with it. One more thing that's angering: I find that they are using this "ctc link" garbage that's waaaaaay worse than their previous programs. Almost everyone has problems with this. It's not college specific, run by the state so even more of your info gets flushed onto the web, and it looks and feels like Windows 98. What the heck is this? With how much tuition costs, everyone should be furious! We shouldn't have to use something so clunky.
Honestly it comes down to boycotting. Take your money elsewhere because it's the only thing they take seriously. It's the only thing that will...
Read moreThis school is awful. During the six quarters I attended, I could not get anyone from financial aid or the loan and grant department to speak with me about how I could get help for tuition and book costs. Based on the financial aid handbook, I should have qualified, but for some reason I did not and even though I applied every quarter, none of my paperwork was ever processed. Often when I went into the financial aid office, I would get shooed away from the counter or ignored by the employees so I would leave. I also had to deal with the cashiers office several times in the middle of a quarter because I had been dropped from my classes; I had to pay extra fees for being dropped, "late" payment, and re-enrolling. I was never notified when a payment was due and I couldn't find information about it either. The bookstore staff were horrible and would often follow me around while I was purchasing materials for the quarter. A majority of my instructors were horrible with people and could not form proper sentences, including my business English instructor. Some of the instructors claimed to want to integrate technology and education in their own classes, but would not allow laptops or tablets in the rooms. I would never return here and I wish I would have gone to a different school for my program as well because Everett Community College ended up costing me just as much as a different school would have - they may have even...
