I booked a room via Online booking. Our stay was from Friday 8/11/17 through Tuesday 8/15/17. We we checked in to a room with 2 queen beds with a total of 5 guests. 2 adults, 3 kids. The graveyard clerk Robin was incredibly polite and accommodating. He made certain we were checked in quickly and had everything we needed. Saturday we requested the room be cleaned and linens changed. It wasn't. The bed was made to appear changed but they weren't. The spot where my kid spilled her juice was still there. We had New towels & garbage pails emptied. Nothing swept or wiped down. Spilled chips on the floor were covered up by placing the trash bin on top of them. That evening my 7 year old got up from bed and slipped on the mat between the beds and split her chin open. The floors are hard & the mat was not secure, so it came out from under her. When we told the clerk on duty she was hurt & asked for a first aid kit, I was given one nearly empty, had no ice packs in it. I found one bandage big enough to cover the bleeding & asked the clerk for a bag for ice. She brought an ice bin liner bag, With a giant hole in it. I emptied a zip lock bag from my suite case & got ice from the machine. We asked for help & were told "the hospital is right behind us a couple blocks down." So I drove my daughter to the emergency room myself. She ended up getting liquid stitches. We arrived back at the hotel at 3/4 a.m and the GM, Rick, was on duty. He was shocked when I asked him to file an incident report and for the hotels insurance information. He told me the clerk on duty when my daughter was hurt did not inform him there was a guest injured when he got there. He immediately emailed the people he needed to and informed me of what would take place with reporting the incident. He was very efficient and on top of things. The next day Our room was properly cleaned. Monday morning my husband tipped the cleaning lady who serviced our room on Sunday $20 and asked her to make sure she cleaned our room and changed our linens while we were out on Monday because our daughter had an accident at night. When we got back to the hotel Monday night @ 11 pm the room had not been cleaned. The pee'd sheets were still on the bed. No towels, no t.p, garbage not cleared. Robin was on duty again and was very upset when I asked him for linens. He immediately apologized and called Rick the GM to let him know what happened and said Rick would talk to us in the morning. Robin offered to come service the room right then but my kids and husband were tired so I declined and asked him to give me the sheets to change the bed myself. He brought me clean sheets, & an extra blanket. He also brought a bunch of clean towels and put them in the room, & t.p. He emptied the trash and dirty Linen, Brought my kids juice and made sure we were set. The next morning before we were to check out, Sarah was on duty. She pulled me aside and asked me what happened the night before. I told her about it not being cleaned and how my husband tipped a lady $20 and it was still not clean. She was not happy and said she was going to look into what she could do. While my husband and I were sitting out front smoking a cigarette, the lady my husband tipped walked up to him and said "I don't know what the fuc$@&" problem is, but take your G-D money." And threw the $20 at his feet. My husband is a disabled veteran...very disrespectful!. Sarah walked outside and I told her what just happened and she immediately sent the cleaning lady home and then comped our stay. All in all we had some issues, But management stepped up and handled it wonderfully. I can't say enough about the management and their professional attention to their guests. The cleaning staff leaves ALOT to be desired. I would stay there again despite the problems, solely based off managements care and concern. This is a new hotel and with new comes growing pains...while I wish my kid had not been hurt and we had better experience with the staff... I'm impressed with the management. Just wish we'd been told about a bigger room...
Read moreWe personally would not stay here again. The room itself was okay, it was clean and cozy. Our problems we had came from the noise, the doors there are super heavy and loud so any time someone opened or closed a door, you could hear it. As well as we were on the second floor and anytime anybody moved in the hall above us, we could hear it like they were stomping across our room. But, after all, it is a hotel, what do you expect? There was also a sign in the lobby that said temperature checks were being done to all guests and we did not get checked once. Our main issue was the staff service, I give them 0 stars. The only reason I marked two stars is because the room sufficed for our needs (although there are way better hotels in Everett for just as cheap if not cheaper.) We received an email after booking our room that said Check in was at 2pm, so we arrived at 1:30pm and asked if we could check in a half hour early, there was a typed out sign that said check in was at 3pm and the lady at the front desk, who was not very professional, said no, check in is at 3. I told her we received an email from Red Lion saying check in was at 2pm and she proceeded to tell me no, check in was at 3. So I showed her the email to which she tilted her head and said hmm, the website must not be updated. So they told us our room was being cleaned and that we could check in at 2 but then said I had to pay 15 dollars for early check in, when I told her no, because we had planned our itinerary for checking in at 2pm like the email had said. She agreed that we wouldn’t pay that fee and we got checked in. I asked if we could pay for late check out, she said yes, pointed to the typed out sign that said 15 dollars until 1pm or 30 dollars until 3 pm. So I said okay, we will check out at 3pm for the 30 dollars, she said we didn’t pay now, she said they would subtract it from the deposit we made to the hotel and told me that if we left later than 3pm that they would continue to subtract from the deposit. I said okay great, we will leave at 3pm and we checked in. Upon entering our room, we could not get the door to lock but after forcefully turning it, it finally locked and thank god it did because around 1pm of the following day(check out day) the housekeeping staff, did NOT knock or anything, they just tried coming in, even though front desk had written down that we were checking out late. So we started cleaning things up and getting ready to leave and around 2:30pm we got a knock on the door from the front desk girl stating that we had to leave, I said yes, we are getting ready to leave and should be out shortly and she told me that room was prebooked so we had to leave now. Which it was only a half hour but we had to rush out of the room not sure if we grabbed everything that we brought and not to mention we paid until staying till 3pm. When we went down to check out, it was the same front desk girl, she did not apologize for the confusion, she just said that they weren’t gonna subtract the 30 dollar late check out fee from my deposit and that we could pay for it by cash or a card and I said okay, so I pulled out out a debit card and she ended up telling me that she had already charged the card we used when we checked in without asking my permission.
Overall our check in process was difficult and our check out process was difficult. The girl at the front desk, was not helpful, was very unprofessional and couldn’t keep her mask over her nose and mouth. Housekeeping had almost entered our room without knocking when we paid for late check out and they hadn’t been communicated with. Mainly it was just more annoyance than it was worth. As well ask I just looked at my credit card statement and we got charged for early check in when I didn’t approve that and we had agreed upon otherwise. So we are generally displeased with our stay and won’t ever...
Read moreLet's just start with I woke up to some poor woman around me rather it was a staff or guest sounding like she was being physically abused/assaulted by a male as she cried and pled for help I couldn't get the front desk to answer the phone and once they did I told them exactly that and their response was "what do you expect us to do? just deal with it". After booking online and paying over $600 for only 3 nights, as we arrived the lady who gave us service was extremely rude as I was politely explaining my card was connected to my phone and due to me traveling/visiting my device had died as I had no where to charge it at that point in time... she DEMANDED "I need $100 in cash NOW, or you will not have a room and you will not recieve a refund at all if you don't give it to me RIGHT NOW!" Luckily, I had family with me that was able to cover it... if not I'm pretty sure I would of frozen outside in the 20 degree winter temperature. When I escorted my service animal to my room, she rudely stopped me again saying "UMM NO YOU NEED TO PAY A PET FEE" I said ma'am, he's a service animal as i'm disabled NOT an emotional support, a SERVICE animal, she rolled her eyes and smucked at me so i kept walking but I felt incredibly uncomfortable and definitely wanted a refund to book somewhere else but was told I wasn't going to get one. When I got to my floor the overwhelming smell of human urine and animal feces smacked me in the face, the disgusting liquid stains all over the elevator should of been a clear warning. I'm not a judgemental person, infact I am very humble but When I pay such outrageous prices to stay somewhere especially the red lion hotel brand name has been highly respected for many years, I expect atleast DECENT quality. I settled my things & noticed that the room was absolutely disgusting as if it hadn't of been cleaned but rather picked up beforehand... I took a tissue and swiped the floor just to check & in just a swipe the white tissue had my handprint with BLACK filth all over it. I checked the bathroom next, the tub was unclean with stains & pubic hairs all over, the toilet had scum stuck to the seat from prior guests, & the towels smelt foul as if they were used to clean excrement, sat wet and molded but then were poorly washed with limited detergent. I've stayed in some low class places for a cheap trip but I tell you, even they were in tip top shape compared to this place. The bedding smelt strongly of BO & had stains all over it. I'm really upset and don't know what to do, I asked for help with this matter and was greeted with great hostility... I'm not even a street dweller or looking for a hand out i'm literally a traveling businessman... please do not stay here unless you want the absolute risk of getting bed bugs/roaches horrible inhumane customer service, having personal belongings/money stolen and being scammed. I'm currently at a loss and don't think they are going to care to do anything right about it....this is the first and last review I will probably ever write in my life but I don't want people going through this too, I could of saved hundreds of dollars staying somewhere...
