Long post warning- MUST READ IF YOUR AFRICAN AMERICAN
I chose this place over Bowelero, for a birthday night out, because my last experience was great, and I had no complaints, but last night was a whole different story.
Check-in was great, we got our lanes, our shoes and started playing. After my first bowel, I realized my shoes were way too waxed or slippery then usual, I almost fell back and busted my butt. When, I go to try and exchange my shoes, the lady or guy at the counter told me all the shoes are the same and wouldn’t make a difference if I exchanged them out, mind you she’s looking at me irritated as she saying that. Where I’m confused, is online it states that safety is there priority when your bowling, from the floor to the shoes, if there was any concern, tell the staff, and I did just that, and look at how they handled the situation. I left with the same pair of shoes I had on feeling dumb for even saying anything.
Now, FOOD SERVICE. I’m use to waitresses coming to your lanes and taking your order, but for some reason our lane was not being helped on, while every other lane was, mind you, we are the only black people in the bowling alley.
I decided to go to the restaurant, as I go to the counter, I notice this girl texting on her phone and eating behind the counter next to where the food comes out. Even after seeing this, I still decided to ask her where can I place an order. She looks at me bothered, and irritated, that I interrupted her time, and directed me to another area where she eventually takes my order. As, she takes my order my total came up to $63 dollars. I questioned the total in my head, but I assumed she took my order correctly, so I didn’t question her.
The food did come out fast and everything was correct except what I had ordered for my children. Instead of getting chicken strips, she brought fish and chips. When I told her about this, she immediately coped and attitude and told me, that is not what I had ordered. Mind you, my son is allergic to seafood.
So she took the food back, and stood behind the counter bickering about the situation with an older lady and the waitress. At this point, I also realized that my total for the food was wrong and I approached her about it. When I went to the counter. There was an older lady standing there, and she immediately walked away, as I said excuse me, she continued to ignore me and the same girl who took my order came back.
I explained to her that I wouldn’t have ordered fish and chips with my kids having allergies to seafood, and that she had originally over charged me, she rolled her eyes at me and asked me what she wants me to do. I said well it seems that you have an attitude so I’m not sure if I want you to help me, and she then states “that your the one black and mad”. At this point, I was fed up and I walked away. My son over heard her and asked me what is wrong with her and rhe people that work here, they all seem mad.
I did notice that my family was treated different and that is with an unbiased mentality. I come from a mixed family, but last night I observed and felt a difference in how white people were treated and greeted with smiles and how my family was treated and greeted. It’s very unfortunate that my children had to experience this non sense.
So $300 dollars later, no refund or apologies. We will never go here again.
Also word of advice to this place, update your receipt machine showing orders on...
Read moreBad customer service: Out of the four workers that were there only one girl was nice. this older lady that worked at the restaurant part of the place was very rude and disrespectful. She saw me and my friends wanting to order and ignored us but when she came around to us she was ok. We went back to the restaurant about 2 more times and on the second time around she said "Again!?!" that isnt professional at all and she should be happy we are buying more stuff. For the two men working at the cash register, they were also both rude. They charged my friend $34.01 in cash which is reasonable, but my friend didnt have change so they handed them $60/three $20 bills and they only gave her $5 back. When my friend brought it up he said she only gave him $40 and just brushed her off. I went to go talk to him and he just acted as if i was dumb and kept laughing at me and then raised his voice at me. He said he would pull up the camera footage to show that she only gave him $40 and i told him to do it. After i said that he just looked at me and starting stuttering saying he cant right then but his supervisor could later. I caught him in a lie. I told him why would he bring up that he could pull up the cameras if he couldnt and he looked like I was right and didnt know what to say so all he said was "Get out or i will call the police." I didnt see anything wrong with what I asked and it seemed like he didnt know what to say so he just kicked me out. While talking to him, he kept laughing and talking to another guy next to him just laughing and basically making me and my friends out to be stupid. I only caught one guys name and it was the one who raised his voice at me, his name was "Jimmy". Overall bowling alley was good but the customer service was...
Read moreFour of us went to this place recently on a saturday night. It was great and fun place to hang out! This review is more a feedback (perhaps for the owner) than a complain. Our total bill was $121 for 4 of us, and 4 games total. So we told the cashier we want to split the total to 2 cards. He showed us that there is 3.5% fee on EACH card so we said YES no problem, we got it! the math should have been $121/2 : $60.50 plus 3.5% fee = $62.50 each card ($125 total) but each of us paid $70 (make it the total $140) We realized right away and asked the cashier to explain (politely snd respectfully). We kept hearing the machine did it, its not us. Then, after minutes of discussion, the security guy decided pay us back by using his own personal money!! Honestly it is not abt the $15, it is abt making sure the owner is honest and train the employees about the payment system. We understand 3.5% is the cost credit card companies charge them, no problem we are more than happy to support local business. We are just disappointed where no one can actually explain how our total got into $140 instead of $125. At the end, a lady employee came in a bit frustrated, kept firing words on our face, didnt let us explain our side, and we felt tension were running high, so we left. (The cashier and the security guy were respectful till the end) Lesson learn, if you go there better to bring cash, or make sure to look at your receipt to see if the calculation is correct. Owner: we believe in supporting local business, we want to come back, but please train your employee more in depth about your point of sale system so they can explain to customers when/if it happened...
