This was my first time shopping at Harbor Freight, and unfortunately, my overall experience was not good. The only reason I left 5 stars is that I was able to return the item, and the gentleman who helped me during the process was very kind.
I recently purchased a product online but received it in an open-box condition. The first layer of tape had already been cut, and additional layers had been applied over it. Since I paid full price, I contacted customer service via email. Elsa, a Senior Associate at the Contact Center, confirmed that a nearby store had five units in stock.
I visited the store to return the product and request a new one. When I explained the situation to a staff member and asked if they had a brand-new, unopened unit, they showed me one item, explaining that all products arrive with multiple layers of tape. It was also open-box, just like the one I had received. While I doubted all items were like this, I chose not to ask them to check the remaining boxes to avoid causing any inconvenience.
The staff member mentioned that the product itself was new and may have been repackaged due to a missing part. However, a factory-new product shouldn’t have any missing parts, and even if parts were somehow missing, it should not be opened and re-taped. Once opened, it becomes an open-box item and should be sold at a discounted price, not at full price.
The box was huge, and the item weighed 37lb (about 17kg). Loading it into my car, driving 20 minutes in the rain, and carrying it into the store was really challenging. On top of that, I overheard staff discussing the reason for my return, and their tone and manner made it clear they viewed me as a difficult customer, which was unpleasant. Despite this, I did my best to stay friendly and polite while leaving the store.
I paid nearly $420, including tax and shipping, which is quite expensive. If I had known beforehand that it was open-box, I might have accepted it at a discounted price. Instead, I had to go through the effort of returning it.

I woke up with one of my tires flat this morning. So I need to pump it up in order to get it to discount tire. I decided to come to Harbor freight for a tire pump because they have more than one option. I looked on their website and many of them were in stock. They all had decent pricing.
When I got there, I saw that they had started their Black Friday sale. It was very good with many items being heavily discounted. I mean, Harbor Freight already has decent pricing so with a discount on top of that there were a lot of good deals to be had.
I also saw that they had these sockets that were colorful. I took a picture and videos of everything they have in there as well as the sockets for you to see. I haven't seen sockets like that at Walmart or Home Depot. So that is a unique item they carry.
Customer service was great. I asked an associate where the tire inflators were and he took me right to them. The checkout guy was great too. He was very nice. I included two videos of my interactions with the two employees to show how good their customer service was.

So more than a month ago I bought a folding utility trailer from this great store. I live in Bellevue but they were the only ones who had it in stock and I was impatient. So I drove all the way up to Everett. Purchase went smooth, they helped me load it up, brought it back home that same day. Several weeks later, when the DMV finally opened up, I went to register the trailer. I was unaware that I would need the receipt to show that sale tax was paid. I had already thrown it away. So on the suggestion of the licensing agent I called the store in hopes they could provider me another copy... in comes Tyler. This wonderful human took the time to look up my old transaction, head across the store to the other office, print it out, take my email, and send me a copy. He stayed on the phone with me the whole time until i could confirm i had recieved it.
