Multiple reasons for the bad review.
I've gone in and one of the workers is extremely adamant about selling you things you do not want/need or even ask about. I can understand trying to make an extra sale but the guy (I did not catch his name but he is the older gentleman) is extremely aggressive about pushing items to the sale. Another time, about two months ago, I went in and purchased two games for the switch for my kids and I. We opened both games and went to return them both one the 6th or 7th day because they were not what we were looking for. Upon presenting the games with the receipt I was rung up as a trade in instead of a refund to get different games. When I asked about why this was being rung up this way and asked if I misunderstood the back of the receipt saying that new items could be turned in within 7 days the worker at the counter said that was only for unopened items. I stepped outside and called corporate for gamestop and asked about this and the lady on the phone kindly explained the worker was wrong and that I was able to receive a refund for the games regardless of reason if it was within the 7 days. I went back inside and was basically told I was still wrong with nothing that could be done, no help past that. Lastly I just stopped by gamestop to get a game or two for my kid (his birthday is tomorrow, it is 2 January btw and around 1920 at night) and the sliding doors what come down to lock up were down. I could see people walking around and I could see the "open" sign still on. I walked up to the door to see the hours to make sure the time posted online or anything wasn't wrong. It said only for new years eve and new years day they closed at 7, not the day after. I proceeded to call the store twice with no answer. I tried knocking on the door, again I could see people walking around, with no answer as well. If it weren't for the fact that this store is now the only one left in fairbanks, I wouldn't be doing my business here. At this point I'd rather just order online and deal with the wait instead of having to go...
Read moreI bought a âpre-ownedâ Horizon: Forbidden West game. When I got home I noticed a black sticker on the front of the game package, and when I removed it it revealed a sticker underneath stating the game was defective and to return to warehouse. I am appalled that I was sold a game they obviously just slapped a black sticker over their defective label and labeled it as a âpre-ownedâ game to make a buck. Upon trying to return it tonight, I was met by at least 50 plus people waiting in line for a new release. Which is fine, until ALL of the pre-purchase customers are taking priority over any and every other service for the store. Surely you guys could have had a designated line for other store-related business between three employees and a manager. But NOPE- we were told by the manager it would be a long wait. I wonât be shopping at this store again due to the shady business tactics that screw over people and waste time / fuel trying to return the game they sold KNOWING it is defective. Horrible...
Read moreSitting here outside the store with several others. It "opened" at 10 yet its now 10:10 and the shutters are still pulled down. They are losing people as they walk away or drive off cause 10am open means nothing. Maybe it's an ish time so they open at 10ish. Well it's been about a year since I posted this review the first time. At the store suppose to open at 11:30 only taking them until 11:50 to actually open. I understand it happening once however everytime I go this store is never opened ontime. So if you pick this store to shop at just know they will need about 20-30mins after whatever random time they post on their door before they are really open.Keep in mind they updated their hours to 11:00 online and the time on the door but their home made signs will change that. Better give...
