I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at your store. I have been a loyal customer for 15-20 years, and I've always appreciated the polite and friendly staff, both at the grocery checkout and in the pharmacy. Unfortunately, my last visit has led me to decide that I will no longer be shopping here. I had a very unpleasant interaction with one of the Hispanic female staff member at the self-checkout. She was rude, spoke to me in a very disrespectful tone, and continuously bothered me while I was trying to check out my groceries. Another employee came over, scanned something with a badge, and the first employee began shouting at me. My groceries ended up on the floor, and I was so upset that I left everything and walked out. I've already spoken with the general manager about this incident, and he was very polite and understanding. Additionally, I had a negative experience at the pharmacy. I was told by the pharmacist that I couldn't pay out-of-pocket for my medication and that I needed prior authorization, and it's the law which is not true. I have two chronic conditions and needed this pain medication for an upcoming procedure. I was able to transfer my prescription to Safeway and get it filled without any issues or prior authorization. The employee at the self-checkout does not have the customer service skills to work with the public and should not be interacting with customers. It's frustrating to be treated this way after being a longtime customer. I will not be spending my money at a place where I'm disrespected and bothered while shopping, nor will I deal with a pharmacy that provides false information and won't allow me to pay for my medication...
Read moreSharing this review in hopes of receiving a refund that I am due. On 5/23, the store staff instructed me to contact my bank. However, my bank instructs me to reach back out to Giant. After sitting on hold for 10 min., I thought this mode of communication may prove more effective. On 5/23, my wife and I visited this Giant, #2741 and had a horrible experience at self checkout. If I remember correctly, the items that we purchased included a salmon filet and two boxes of couscous. Upon scanning the items, utilizing a store bonus card to receive some discounts, I proceeded to pay my $30.19 bill via card swipe. I swiped my card several times, all of which were declined. The attendant arrived and stated that this had been occurring throughout the day and to keep trying. I continued to try, even attempting another card. All transactions did not go through. Becoming frustrated, my wife and I proceeded to another self checkout kiosk. This time, my wife scanned the items and, in being flustered, did not utilize the bonus card. Her total came out to a little over $36. When she swiped her card, hers, too, was declined. On the third swipe, the transaction went through. Upon reviewing my transactions with my bank, the $30.19 did process and the money was debited from my account. Additionally, my wife was charged three times. Although, her bank has already refunded her two erroneous transactions. I expect a $30.19 refund. I understand $30.19 is not much money, but its the principle of the situation that matters to me. Read moreWe were inside the store for about 10 min before the store closing, of course we didn't wanna go that late but we needed to go. When it was 9:55 (we were there for 5 min already) they started to announce that the store was already closed, and they came to us (the "manager" and this other guy BIRAT saying that we needed to leave and that they could not wait for us to finish, because it was already past the closing time. I understand if it's like half an hour after, but it was 10 pm exactly and I told them I was gonna finish and it was just gonna take me 5 more min, they were really rude to me, I ended leaving 2 of my items because of these 2 guys. I will never go back to that store, and honestly I work with customer service for more than 15 years, I still do, and these guys need TRAINING for sure, that is not good customer service at all, hope someone above them can see this and do something, because Im pretty sure these 2 guys don't know how to well serve their customers, they are there just for the money and don't care about nothing else.
