The Amana Colonies are a collection of 7 Amana settlements in Central Iowa of German descent, and they are not Amish. The Margie Jane's store had terrific metal sculptures and decorations, and it was super fun to browse through the colorful and clever displays. Apparently, the Amana Colonies are the most visited tourist attraction in Iowa, and it is easy to see why this is true.
