Oh my goodness what an experience! I find the people here, at least the 1 that I dealt with to be very unhappy with their job. Visually, looking around at the workers, they all appear to be rushed and just trying to move people along. It is super busy. We went on a Thursday after lunch and Unfortunately we did not have an appointment and we had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes. The good thing is that through their texting system, you are able to run a quick errand because it actually gives you a heads up when you have a couple of people a head of you so you don't miss your turn in line. I really found the notifications via text a plus but that is it. Sadly, it is the only positive thing that I can say about my experienced here at this DMV office. In hindsight, I wish I would have asked to speak to a manager and maybe we would have received the help that we needed. The person that we got was very rude, condescending and argumentative. She wouldn't let us speak to explain the situation and interrupted before us finishing to tell her the issue. She said, in a very bossy manner that this is our issue and therefore we have to do our own queries by phone. She waived her hand as to dismiss us. I told her that we waited to speak to her for 2 1/2 hours and that we were told that she can call the number on our behalf. She continued with her excuses and bellittled us as to why we couldn't call. I told her that we had called several times without ever speaking to anyone because it's a line where they tell you that they will call you back and that they never do. I asked her if DMV has an expedited line to get through to their "specialty areas within in DMV" and asked her to please call and ask one question that was not on the form that we had received from DMV but she fought it all the way and kept on trying to make her self seem knowledgeable but made silly reasons and excuses not to call. Finally, after 10 minutes she said okay I'll call but I'll call a different number. OMG! I was like oh wow she just does not want to help. The lady in the front who gave me my number to be seen by a DMV rep even agreed with me that our questions should be answered by the tel number I wanted this woman to call but she said no that is not the number! I'll call this other number. She then told us to go sit down and wait for her to call us back to the window. After 10 minutes she called us back to the window. She looked very irritated and frustrated. I literally felt like I was going to get the paddle. I felt like it was middle school in the late 70's. She started to interrogate us and went off on a whole different issue that had already been addressed and taken care of back in January. Frankly, she was sort of intimidating. If she had only read the letter she took from us the one she was holding in her hand it would have explained everything and did not have to interrogate us but since she was super negative and clearly did not want to help she thought she was going to get the "I gotcha" reaction from us. We were actually speechless and shocked by her acting like this. It was so stupid and ridiculous that we left there upset. Nothing was accomplished and 3 hours of wasted time. I just cannot believe this rude behavior is tolerable within this office. People in service get paid to help other people. This person does everything within their power not to help. The DMV in Napa and Vallejo are both very courteous and professional and I will continue to go to those two places. Napa and Vallejo may be busy but at least they care and know how to be respectful and treat people right. I only went to the Fairfield office because I was helping someone that lives...
Read moreThey messed up my info on my car registration the previous year.. fixed it thanks to the previous management.... Then attempted to penalize me for it this year and only give me my tags based on their previous mistake being overlooked and applied based on the ignorance that took place previously therefore penalizing me, in which they were asking me to go and do again what got my registration messed up in the first place, which the manager the previous year just corrected!!!!!... Then refuse! to make notes based on the interaction.. even offered me unrealistic scenarios to help cover them before they helped me.. I'll never go there again and I wish I had somebody else complain too.. they even lied and said if the vehicle is registered to a family member no one can pick up the tag's but that person, when in fact that has never been a law and i had been allowed to pick up tag's previously from that same DMV with no problem previous years with previous staff and I asked this question along! long!! time ago to know if its was okay, which I've done for my aunt who was sick on previous occasions, but with older knowledgeable staff members... they also had me smog my vehicle last year to get it registered for tag's and then lost! that information for this year registration and refuse to look up where I said I did the smoke at.. I'll never step in that office again.. they actually got offended because I tried to explain the previous situations.. as if I was questioning there intelligence by trying and I say trying to explain because the person helping me refuse to simply get the manager, instead spent an apple amount of time explaining to their manager to tell me how it's going to go! based on that individuals! feeling based on the matter ( extremely highly unprofessional) my quarrel wasn't with that individual, but every time I said (at this DMV) she gave me even more scenarios and contradicting yourself based on why she couldn't help me even though I was standing there with the original! owner! Of the vehicle Vehicle with me,no not until she fully!! Explained her point of view to the manager how she felt the previous owner experience on the matter was obsolete... Even stating that they're just saving their buts in case the car was stolen and I wanted to register it to be able to still drive! around! .. who does that?, what are they talking about!!!.. who steals a car and go registers it!!!!!! ... Seriously!! How incompetent .. I'm sorry but those people are incompetent!!!! and for the sake of others do some retraining please!!!!!, what happened to that amazing staff that office used to have, this is sad and ridiculous!.. how do you have people in that building that don't know what you can or can't do!!, what they can and can't do! and refuse!! to help you based on what they refuse to look up!! or find out ..then followed arrogance and biased information based on...
Read moreThe DMV office in Fairfield today January 4, 2021 was an absolute waste of time for my elderly disabled Mother during the COVID-19 Pandemic and Bad Rainy Weather. I called this morning to ask a DMV representative the process for getting my Mother to DMV for a State ID card, well the Rep said if she's had a DL then she won't need a picture but she would need to go down anyways for document signing. I asked are there any documents that she needs to bring and the Rep said no because she's already in the system and they can verify her there. So I got there and all seem to be going well so the worker says okay since you're over the age of 70 you can get a State ID free then she looks in the computer and says, Oh I'm sorry I'm going to need here to bring a Birth Certificate. I said Oh wait I don't understand I was just told by the DMV Customer Service Rep on the phone 30 minutes prior to arriving that Mother didn't need to bring anything. The worker went on with no she needs to bring it, I mean I can see her information on the screen but it won't let me get pass it to proceed. I asked to speak to the manager and when she came it was the infamous, "Unfortunately there's nothing I can do, she needs to bring a birth certificate" I told her then why would I be misinformed about not needing to bring any documents. This is so awful that if you can see my Mother's information (birth certificate) on the screen why make her go back out in the rain, pandemic and she's disabled. I'm still extremely perplexed and very disappointed with how these workers conduct themselves. Terrible DMV Service and Systems. I wouldn't treat my enemy this way. But God don't like ugly and isn't too fond of cute!!! ...
