Really wanted to give this place a shot because the pictures look good, but wonât be coming back here.
Took my parents out for breakfast today (a Saturday morning.) Theyâre early birds so I was glad this place opened at 7am. We arrived around 7:15. A man came out from the kitchen and told us the waitress wasnât there yet and wouldnât be there for another 20 minutes.
Ok⊠thatâs not ideal but we were willing to sit down and wait. We asked the guy if there was any coffee available and he said no. Didnât even offer us water either. While we were waiting, a woman came in and asked for just a cup of ice, with some dollar bills in her hand ready to pay for it. The guy told her the same thing - to wait for the waitress. I understand he was probably just a cook that couldnât really be bothered but damn, what a bad look.
7:45 rolls around and still no waitress. We decided to leave. Couldâve just been a bad day for them but first impressions mean everything. If youâre not open and ready at your stated time, then change your business hours. This is why small businesses fail!
I took my parents to La Cheve in Napa instead and we had a great time there, highly...
Read moreIâm going to be honest and sincere. Not to criticize the food. Im going to say that the food was good. It can be even more better though. I want to say that the quesadilla flor de calabaza was good and big. Now the tlayuda all condiments were great. Except to hit the spot where I want to feel to take some tlayudas home or eat seconds. The Oaxacan cheese they couldâve brought straight from Oaxaca wouldâve been so great and on the spot. Oaxacan cheese is a salty taste and stringy like if it were noodles. The cheese that was added was not Oaxacan cheese. The texture of it was like mozzarella like. Now the chorizo, didnât give me the taste of chorizo. It gave me a taste of a hot dog sausage. The tlayuda was on point. I only had to point out only those specific condiments. Iâd say this restaurant has the potential to hit on the market. I understand to bring products straight from Oaxaca due to the tariffs effects it. But just know you guys that your restaurant has the potential to hit hard and become very successful with making this spot the house of the tlayudas. Iâd say guys you should bring products to make it feel like home. It be...
Read moreVery tasty shrimp tacos. Corn tortillas as you would expect, fresh and delicious. My wife ate here recently and she loved itâ and she is super picky about Mexican food (I would describe this food as interior) and this place meets her expectations.
Update: 9/13/25
The food here is spectacular. Try the chilaquiles but be aware breakfast stops at noon on weekends (they accommodated my order however). Itâs all day during the week. Iâve not tried any of the non-traditional items (chicken sandwich, Cobb salad etc.), but itâs clear the chef here is committed to fresh ingredients and knows what theyâre doing. I was so tempted to lick my plate clean but my pride wouldnât let me lol.
They serve Tlayuda here and I can see itâs widely enjoyed by my Latino friends here at the restaurant so it must be good. Iâve yet to try it, but I will.
This is interior food prepared carefully and...
