May 3 2024 was the first time I had ever shopped at La Moda. Upon entering I immediately saw several things that I loved. I took them into the dressing room and after no more that 30 minutes I had purchased two blouses, a dress and a pocketbook. The total was $738 . I was so happy and left. When I arrived home I cut off all of the tags and hung up all of the clothes. 8 or 9 days later , no more than that I put on one of the blouses for a night out. When I put the blouse on with the pants I had already had I noticed that the blouse did not look the way I thought it would so I took it off. I looked for the receipt and called the store in the morning. I expressed that I understood their 7 day return policy for store credit, and was hoping that they would give me a chance to exchange it for something else. The employee was extremely nice and told me to come down and that there would be no problem. When I arrived she would not take it back because there were no tags. I explained that I had thrown them out last week. She said she was sorry but that there was nothing that she could do. The blouse was close to $200. I asked her if she could call the owner and ask the owner if they could give me a courtesy since I was a first time customer. I assured her that I would be back many times during the year to buy more clothes because I really loved the store and the merchandise. She had the owner call me the next day, Mary. Mary explained that she stands by her employees and that she was very sorry, but that she would not take the blouse back. I tried to tell her that I completely understood the policy, but I was hoping for a little consideration, seeing I had never been there before and the receipt did not say anything about having the tags on the clothes. Finally, Mary said that she would send me a gift certificate for half of the price of the blouse and I decided to leave it at that. It’s been two weeks. I’ve never received a gift certificate from her. Four days ago the zipper broke on the purse that I purchased . I would not call or go into the store and tell them about the pocketbook after the experience I had with the blouse. I will never return to that store again. It’s too bad that they do not stand by their customers the way they stand by their employees. I have never written a review for a store in my entire life , but $738 means something to me but unfortunately not to them. I will take my business elsewhere. It really is a...
Read moreMy family and I have always had positive experiences at La Moda in Fairfield. They have clothing in every price range. Even better, these women are professional saleswomen. They know their merchandise, they know what will look good on you and what won't--in short they are helpful without being intrusive or overbearing. They are warm and friendly and they get to know you and your look, which is priceless! My husband and children go in there to buy me presents and they steer them in the right direction. They love their work and there is a warm family feel to their establishment. Highest...
