This place was one of thee worst sandwich spots I have ever been to. I have gotten ripped off in other places, but this one takes the cake. Let me start by saying that the atmosphere in the Fairfield Connecticut firehouse subs was extremely uncomfortable. I went in with my kids and husband and everyone looked at me like I was from another planet. The staff was rude and not great at helping with the choice making while also being rushed to hurry up and make our order. I ordered the Italian sub. There was no Italian on it. It has two slices of salami, three sweet peppers, old lettuce, one slice of tomato and barely any mayo. I asked for it not to be pressed and it was still pressed. I paid over 90 dollars for sandwiches that had nothing in them. I should mention that the median home in this neighborhood is over a million, and I guess that rich privilege people can be fed anything and charge whatever for it. I pay anything for good food. I was always told not to be cheap when it comes to feeding yourself and your family but this place was absolutely disrespectful. I don’t have to be rich to know quality. This place is not quality. They should be out of business for the type of food they served us. Location is horrible, atmosphere is not pleasant and the staff does not respect patronage for the way they treat the customer or the way they serve their food. Absolutely disgusting. Visitors to Fairfield Connecticut beware. But especially if you decide to go to firehouse subs in this area. Someone please help these rich people out. They do not know what good eats are. At least not in this subs restaurant. I wanted to give it no star. But you have to get at least one. I really don’t know what the one star would be for. But my kids did see fireworks at a nearby beach. I gave my food to my dogs. I wish I would have taken a picture of it so everyone knows what they are about. Go somewhere...
Read moreThis weekend I’m moving out of Fairfield, and I say with confidence that I will miss Firehouse Deli the most (and will visit as frequently as reasonably possible). Great food, kind and friendly people, excellent, fast service (even in strange times of Covid), and pickles... I hear the salads are amazing too (says my mother-in-law). I have two favorites on the menu that I probably shouldn’t get EVERY time, but then again, eat what you love. For breakfast, it’s the Alex’s Breakfast Panini, and for lunch, it’s the Harlem Shuffle.
Truly, every sandwich is delicious. They aren’t just slapping deli meat onto dry rolls and sprinkling some salt and pepper. These are delicious creations, with the right combinations of sauces, veggies, meats, and cheese to excite the tastebuds. Everyone looks happy here, and I never leave hungry... not stuffed either, but just right. Top it off with some pickles and call it a day. We recommend a lot of great places in Fairfield to friends for food, but usually the conversation starts with “have we taken you to firehouse deli yet?”
If Firehouse reads this, just wanted to say thanks for being that go-to place that so many people long for when they move to somewhere new. That, and for giving an old firehouse new life (appreciated by a fellow...
Read moreWay to busy for them to keep up so much so that they were arguing behind the counter because it was too crazy and apparently short staffed. Waited 30 minutes for food. Ordered the special and was given the wrong order. They tried to tell me that’s how they make it and I told them they need to fix the description on the board because what I got was not the sandwich I ordered. They sent someone to look at the board and realized they were in the wrong yet instead of correcting it right there they said I can wait another 20mins or get a refund. Meanwhile I had a 3yr old with me and already waited 30mins for the food to begin with. The girl had no idea how to issue a refund and told me I was using a different card which I had the original receipt for to prove I wasn’t. So far my credit card is showing two of the same charge so guarantee she messed that up too. Then she proceeds to tell me have the day you deserve like I made the sandwich wrong and was complaining for fun. How about acknowledge you guys messed up and prioritize a customer that already paid. For reference here is the picture of the board which lists everything on the sandwich. No where on there under Roma Panini does it state pesto or tomato and the one I got was also missing the balsamic so completely...
