Looks like some reviews of other locations have snuck into this one, so to make this clear, this is a review of the GIlmore Road Location across the street from Bass Pro at 275 in Fairfield/Forest Park.
So, most of the staff are ok, however there are a few there that need to go. A few of them at the customer service counter don't know Corporate policies on returns and wouldn't take back my item. Went to another Meijer location, return completed no issues. When I asked about the return issue at Gilmore, I was told they should have taken my return no issue, first time. They also said they have had complaints/comments about the Customer Service Counter at Gilmore being temperamental and playing God on occasion. My return was within a week of purchase, I had my receipt, it was general merchandise, and It was unopened and unused. It was also not listed on Meijer's list of things that have a special return policy.
Also, this is an issue with me; when they have a SALE on certain grocery items, like something is $1 or $2 off regular price, and it's a popular item, they never stock enough of it to meet the demand that the sale will create. It creates a bait and switch issue. Doesn't matter if you go in the early AM, mid day, or evening; they don't have it on the shelf and it's not in stock in back. This is a store issue. I will go to the location at Stone Creek or Harrison Ave at Rybolt and they ALWAYS have the shelves fully stocked at all times of day, even the sale items. Seems they know how to keep the popular items available during a sale and keep them on the shelves. This also goes for popular grilling items around holidays. How do you not stock up on chicken breasts, burgers and the like for one of the 3 Summer holidays? Shame on you... Anticipate the demand and prepare for it. That also includes Hamburger and Hotdog buns. I'm no longer shopping at this store even though it's closer to me than Stone Creek and Harrison Ave. I can get what I want the first trip at those locations where I often just leave the Gilmore location empty handed because they don't have things in stock.
Corporate needs to look at who's managing this location and make a change. It's giving Meijer a bad name. If it wasn't for the other locations that have good management, I wouldn't shop Meijer at all based on Gilmore's poor performance, a D minus. BTW, the Gilmore location is Ghetto Hilljack. I mean really, compared to Stone Creek and Harrison Ave., it's old, outdated and just dingy. They did some basic cosmetic stuff several years ago but it's a red headed stepchild compared to the other nicer...
Read moreOn Thursday 4-6-2017 i went down to the Fairfield Meijer store for a total of 24 hours. While down thire the empolleey's treated me very well i praise the empolleey's that treated me well and they where so kind and nice. The management needs a little more work on how they treat their guest at a the Fairfield ohio store but everything eles went very well and sweet.
Down at the Fairfield ohio stroe they have a wine tasting booth once awhile thr milk is a $1.69 a gallon right now think throw out the month of September, i picked out a new pair of 👞's a new charger and new usb cord and other stuff i spent over $110.00 in a 24 hour day.
The 1st shift empolleey's where kind and very well behaved the 2nd shift empolleey's where nice and very welled grommed and they had a very behaved 2nd shift staff on 2nd shift and they are very well helpful and are in line with company polleyies, The third shift empolleey's where the coolest of them all they have at least 3 cashiers at 🌙 and all cashiers treated me with up most resptet.
But the some of the managers need some work on how to treat their guest how come in and shop thier some of them will give you looks and nasty looks i will give the management about 3/half 🌟's on my vist but i give the store 5 because on how the empolleey's where and treated me, if you are a meijer team memeber i would tell you if you ever get a chance, to vist any meijer store vist the one in fairfield ohio and if you got a couple of days or on vaction from you're work go and spend the day and see how you get treated. Because if you want be sorry if you paid a vist to this store if you will enjoy this store with a warm welcome and mybe with a taste of wine if you are over...
Read moreI can not stand that an hour before close they are ready to kick you out. They start lecturing you via the comm system about being ready to leave. They literally announce every five minutes to go upfront, we even had staff follow us through the store and literally tell us to stop shopping at ten till closing saying we did not have time to go get toilet paper, which is why we had to shop so late to begin with. The people on the speaker are not at all nice either. It ruined my whole experience. Sometimes my husband works late so shopping late is just a reality. We are always to the register with time to spare I don't need a lecture a friendly reminder will due as I walk in at quarter till, since I'm likely going there because of the later business hours to begin with. I also got a bad taste because staff had been sticking so half the items I'd want to purchase were on skids in the center isles and not Shoppable even though visible. This is just plain bad service. Shelves should not ever run bare if you stick and rotate products. I should not be asked to leave before closing when my kids need toilet paper at home. Maybe offer help, that'd be nice? Or go stock shelves instead of follow me angrily telling me not to shop there....if I had the option I would not. Prices here are always higher and sales make prices only comparable to not on sale at Walmart or Kroger's. There is more selection and more in the international and gourmet departments, but this is not worth the hassle or rude...
