IHOP — Restaurant in Forest Park

My friends and I decided to go for dinner, and the restaurant only had about 6 tables that were occupied, yet my group of 3 people, and quite a few others had to wait 10+ minutes to even be seated. Once we were seated, our waitress rushed away, and didn't come back to ask what we wanted to drink for about another 5 minutes or so.

A large group of teenage boys came in, and were seated immediately, even though there were still people waiting that had come in the same time as us.

They were really loud and obnoxious. I couldn't hear what my friend sitting across from me was even saying, and they kept using racial slurs very loudly, when there were children in the restaurant.

The teenagers knew our waitress, because she kept coming over to their table to "chit chat" with them instead of doing her job. The group of about 10 teens received all of their food before we did, even though there was 3 of us and we ordered before they even arrived.

At one point, one of the teenagers spilled his drink on the floor next to me, and a lot got on my pants. Not one employee came to clean it up, and so after 10 minutes of it sitting there, my friend went to grab napkins to clean it up.

Finally we went to pay our bill. We were charged for something we didn't receive, so I asked them to take it off the bill. I told our server that I had a drink spilled on me, and that my table had to clean it up. She got her manager, and he just looked at me and said "oh, I'm sorry about that." He didn't offer anything in terms of compensation. Worst dining...

Been sitting here for over an hour. My food came out. My wife ordered and they told her a half hour later they didn't have the ingredients to make her meal. Waitress is crying. "Manager" (they tell us is Andre) apparently cussed her out. Toast hard as a brick. Big steak omelet was half the usual size. Hash browns sloppily thrown on a plate and a portion of the normal size. Waitress is begging to get my wife's order so she can go home, presumably being let go. Absolutely dysfunctional appearance and behavior. Constant bickering between everyone in the back of the store easily heard by customers. Seems cook isn't paying attention. Another table was waiting here for over 45 minutes. We really wanted to go here for late food after a late gig. My wife doesn't eat pork and we heard the waitress pass along her order for turkey bacon. They served her regular bacon and we had to send it back. Could be another half hour now. Next time anywhere else but here. Waffle House sounds great. We've had a few iffy experiences at this IHOP including a waiter pressed into service as a cook who couldn't make the IHOP product but tried hard to make things they he learned at a previous restaurant job. This is the worst.....ended up taking over 90 minutes here....gosh, they took the crepes off the bill (the ones they couldn't make an hour ago). It was a bit chilly, but restaurant temperature may depend on how many people are in the dining area, there was only 2 other customers at other tables & they didn't have us sitting in all the same place. One was an elderly couple, the other was a family with an energetic toddler.

Service was good, and I wasn't sure they'd be open, but the wait staff let me know that they are now Open 24 Hours EVERY DAY - Sunday through Saturday, almost all year long - except for two days out of the year - Thanksgiving Day & Christmas day!

Late night dinner, 3 am craving - they're open with breakfast yumminess all day long. Lunch & dinner menu available late into the wee hours.

There used to be lots of restaurants that were open later in the night prior to Covid and many more open 24 hrs - but now very few restaurants are open inside for eating inside the restaurant!

I say it's about time! Let everyone know they're open 24 hrs - inside, yes they still have pickup, and will still be available in delivery apps or their app, but why not take a drive & go there in your PJs?! 😁... I don't think they will mind, as long as you're wearing some type of shoes & clothing (you know the law says "shirt & shoes" - doesn't say it can't be a long night shirt &...
