Walmart — Local services in Falmouth

This Walmart was not a good choice, in my opinion. I usually don't shop at Walmart anymore, but I had to go buy a straight talk phone card, which is exclusively sold at Walmart. So, my boyfriend and I took the bus over there, just to get that card. I ended up buying a new phone for my boyfriend, and of course they ring you up in the electronics department. It makes complete sense to me that they do that. So, I had my shopping tote bag, with the new phone, screen covers, and our straight talk prepaid phone cards in it. I still wanted to look at a couple more things, and one of them was a swimsuit for warm water physical therapy. So, I bought that swimsuit and then after that, I bought some drinks, after finding out the bus was still a half hour out. I'm very aware that there are people at the door, usually checking people's receipts. So, I get up to the registers, and there was only one employee working at the register that people could buy items or return them. That line was forever long. The only thing they had left to use were the self-checkout lines, which I definitely don't mind using. The problem was that there was a small line ahead of me, and most of the registers were open for self-checkout. Well, as soon as people left certain self-checkout lanes, this female employee kept turning the lights off on the registers, so they couldn't be used. She left about 3 registers open. The line behind me was getting soooo long, and I don't understand why she would've done that. So finally, I get to check out and everything went smoothly. But, I noticed that 2 male employees were staring at me and obviously thinking about what I "could've" done if I was a thief. So, that was very annoying and rude that they were staring at me. I finished paying for the other stuff that I bought. I understand why they check receipts. What I don't understand is the two male employees that decided to stare at me and whispered back and forth. That's just RUDE!!! I didn't like the feelings it made me feel. I did show the one man that asked for my receipts, my receipts, and as I already knew, everything was paid for and fine. It was just complete display of rudeness that those 2 men put on toward me. And, the girl that kept closing the self-checkout registers, when she could easily see the huge, long line that was forming, really upset me. That is why I am not impressed with this Walmart's employees. The lack of employees in the store shopping areas, was pretty annoying, as well. I was just trying to find someone to ask a question to, regarding the price on some clearance swimsuits. I ended up having to ask the NICE woman behind the jewelry counter. So, you do have some nice employees there. Why not use them for the front end customer service?? You've got the rudest employees up there. So, in my recommendation to would-be customers, I would say, "Avoid going to this Walmart, If you need to go to Walmart! And, if you have no other choice, just be aware that some of the employees are...

Tuesday May 6th 2025 around 7:30 pm at the Falmouth Walmart location

I needed to get some dog food/ treats, and a few snack items for the kids, which were also accompanying me. I had scanned all my items placed most of them in bags I brought from home. I left the dogs of dog mats and dog food out, because those were larger items.

I scanned my bottle of wine, which all I needed was a store associate to look at my ID. The gentleman came over, pondered over my ID for a bit longer than normal, which was the least to say “very odd! “Then he made a gesture towards my cart at the dog mat box and the dog food. I stated that I had already scanned those items with the handheld scanner he said OKAY, okay, which when you say okay more than once you are dismissing someone, He then took his handheld device and scanned the dog mat box to make sure. He could have looked at the screen, to see if he had any concerns. I was mortified and for him to do this in front of my kids. The one of the other customers in self-check-out who witnessed the incident came up to me and asked if I was okay. I started to cry. I proceeded to walk out with her and the same gentleman who racial profiled me, then bombarded me with apologies. I held my hand out and said OKAY, and he continued to follow me out of the door and the woman told him a few times. I think she just needs some space.

I have been coming to this Walmart for over 10 years now, and I never have been racial profiled, but in the year of 2025, I was racially profiled in the Scarborough location and now in the Falmouth location. I grew up in Portland Maine. I went to Longfellow Elementary school. I had to tell my kids that this comes with being a person of color, even if you grew up and have a clean record and abide by the rules and law, you will still get judged by the content of your skin and...

The customer service associates morale Has significantly shifted sine pre-pandemic days...good help will always be difficult to find,& keep in all industries ,and establishments the United States - wide ; where it is of particular relevance in my life and yours too. I hrlesitate to venture that statementp placing it outside of our borders ,or placing it on 3rd world countries. My u latest visit ; 04/16/2022 Service desk ( 1st register /) The older gent had no clue what he was doing ..despite his games ...He miscounted my Cash - and instead of double checking it as I insisted he did... I have $50. Gone for his lack of effort afforded to follow up ; not to mention ,his inability to see past his opinion , seeing me: " the customer" asking of him to try to exude a unbiased attitude,open to all possibilities regardless where or which p was alternately right ,/ or wrong .t The other 2 c.s.a 's : one who was apparently heading- up the front -was off to the side and continued texting ,undisturbed by the tone of my tone changing drastically enough the other patrons immediately got this memo ; Fully .upset I plan on calling again ..I've tryed since 8 am ,( *they're open today, Easter 2022 ).. They don't like the phone ..while there it rang continuosly ,while no one mo VC Ed to acknowledge this by simply ...answering it ...??? We will now see how honest they are...their draw is $50,...
