I found this escape room poorly prepared, damaged, and fundamentally flawed. The puzzles were not clear or coherent. Many of the puzzles relied on "implied information" that was unavailable to participants. All of the locks had timeout limits on them, meaning that if you are wrong once it was 5-10 minutes before you could try again. In a room with only 45 to 60 minutes to solve the whole room and several puzzles relied on the solving of others, this made the room almost impossible. Hints were not helpful and were solely the answer to the puzzle. There was so little satisfaction in actually getting an answer. Also, something that is mentioned nowhere on the website and was not told to my group prior is that this particular room requires you to crawl around through a tunnel and climb. One of the members of our party had a knee brace and even asked if there was any part where mobility problems would play into it. The staff was rude and did not allow our members to keep our wallets, keys, or phones. While I can understand phones to prevent people from filming or cheating, not being allowed to keep my stuff, including fidget toys for my or my young niece's anxiety, was over the top. When several members expressed eariness about leaving our wallets and keys unattended in the front lobby, we were basically told that we would forfeit our reservation if we did not comply. One of the worst parts is the room was in complete disrepair. There were supply closets open and full of random junk; the walls were falling apart, and clues were indistinguishable from damage. Overall, the staff was slightly rude and only seemed interested in making money off of my group rather than the experience itself. I honestly felt like the room was set up to intentionally make sure that groups had to buy extra time in the end. I have been to several escape rooms, and this was by far the worst one I have ever been to. Also, be aware that anybody that is with you pays full price, including children under 5.    Read moreLet me first start off by saying I pre purchased my tickets and did not know that I had to register and schedule a time since this was our FIRST ESCAPE ROOM experience. I drove about 1.5 hours and when we were 15 min. Away I decided to call⦠I spoke with a wonderful gentleman named Michael who explained they only had scheduled rooms and the gentleman explained how booking works. He definitely did not have to but he said since you are already here let me see what we can do. I texted him and in less than 30 minutes he texted us back explaining we could come and he will open and schedule a room time for us. Thankyou Michael for this. When we got there we were greeted by smiling faces and a staff with such enthusiasm. We had temple ruins room and though we did not escape in time we had a BLAST!!! MOST IMPORTANTLY MY CHILDREN ARE OLDER AND BARLEY WANNA PUT DOWN social media and phones or would rather hang out with their friends. This was a time that the whole family had no phones and no distractions and really had to communicate with each other and work together as a family. It was just a wonderful moment. I am so grateful that the staff Michael and Shawn were so nice and grateful they were able to arrange us to come in after I messed up and did not book. This says so much about a company in my eyes. Bought Groupon which made me reserve through a special website and all of a sudden no availability. Called Exithis, no answer. Texted them and they claimed someone booked the time slot 2 hours prior to me trying and thereās nothing they could do since we purchased through Groupon. At this moment, that same time slot does not show as sold out. There are other time slots that show as sold out. Now they are changing their story saying they donāt allow same day bookings online (which I canāt find on their website or Grouponās site). Groupon says online booking is required. They are just throwing out every excuse when the ones provided doesnāt make sense. Avoid this sketchy business at all costs.
Edited to add that Groupon customer service is 5/5 stars. They fully refunded me and was highly apologetic that the āfine printā that was told to me via text from the business does not match Grouponās fine or large print with this voucher. Itās actually the exact opposite. The business missed the point that their website needs updating if their fine print has changed and also should reflect current availability when the avenue I purchased from says must be booked online (and doesnāt say same day bookings arenāt allowed).
