Worst experience ever. Was sold bad ribs, and I mean horrid smelling. Called asking for a refund, gentleman on the phone said there would be no issue. Little did I know, the lady who has been working there for some time told me there was no way she could stay open a few minutes after 6. Then proceeded to tell me it “wasn’t a big deal the ribs were bad” as well as, “honey you’re old enough to know what bad ribs smell like” Proceeding to slam the phone down to hang up. We have been shopping at Jim’s for many years and this lady has ruined that. Will never even step foot into Jim’s again.. EXCEPT for my money back and a piece of my mind to whoever her superior is. Worst experience I have ever received at a market in my life. 10/10 DO NOT recommend such an outdated place and rude lady at the desk. Bad pork is how people get...

I've heard rave reviews of this place so I called today to see if they carry a particular type/cut of meat. It is a little bit of a drive from where I live, but I was willing to make it for the quality of service that I have heard so much about. Their hours indicated that they are open from 10-6 this day. I called about 10:10. Someone physically lifted the landline handset and then hung it back up. I understand everyone is busy and stressed out right now. I understand they had just opened. Regardless, they were open. I would suggest simply letting the call go to voicemail/machine if they are too busy to answer at the moment. Physically taking the time to actively hang up on a potential customer is not a good first impression. I do hope their day gets better but I'm unfortunately not going...

Jim's butcher shop is a mainstay in downtown Flat Rock. It has been here for over 30 years. He has the BEST in hand cut meat of all kinds. He also has AWESOME stuffed pork chops, chicken, kabobs, and homemade sausage that is out of this world. He also does catering and processes deer! Homemade breads and bake goods of all kinds. Scones are to die for. Other groceries & antiques and craft persons goods. Great store! Great people! Lotto, alcohol & beer....
