First off, this isn’t our regular Home Depot but was the only one that had what we were looking for listed as “in stock”. We ordered it online for in store pickup and went up there a couple hours later to retrieve the items. We stopped at the customer service desk and were helped by an extremely nice person named Rachel who said that the order hadn’t been pulled yet, which we figured as we showed up before getting the confirmation email. Rachel asked a gentleman to assist us with getting the items and he was very happy to help. His apron said “Zebbie” on it and I have to say, I was very impressed with him. He looked for the items and unfortunately wasn’t able to find any in stock even though the website said they had two of them. Zebbie searched for awhile to make sure he didn’t miss the items and when he verified that they didn’t have any, he apologized and tried calling other locations to see if they had any that we could run over and pickup. Unfortunately there weren’t any. At this point, we asked if we could have the display as it was in great shape and was already assembled. Zebbie happily spoke to his manager and verified that we could take the display, apologized for the inconvenience, and as icing on the cake spoke to his manager and asked if we could get a discount on another item we were purchasing. We didn’t even ask for the discount. His manager agreed and we got 50% off the extra item, which came out to around $25.
As I mentioned, this is not our regular Home Depot but I would gladly drive the extra distance if it means getting great customer service like that provided by Rachel and Zebbie. Thank you both for making what could have been a very frustrating trip into a...
Read moreI had carpet installed on my back porch ( breezeway). Of course the young lady came out and measured before I made the purchase. This was after I had spoken with a flooring clerk in the store and picked out the indoor/outdoor carpet. I had to pay upfront before the carpet was ordered. Installer called and set appointment for the installation. The installer, Robert, was very nice. When he and his partner were finished he asked me to come out and look at the completed job. Everything looked fine. There were a few spots I will need to touch up as far as the paint job due to the maneuvering they had to do. That's not a problem! The issue is the amount of carpet that was left over! My goodness there was about a whole half roll left. I figured there had been a mistake in the measurement. I called the store and spoke to Lori who pulled my floor plan up (which by the way I never received) and explained why I had so much carpet left; seam versus no seam. I was told I could not return the extra carpet for a refund. Oh boy! This was an expensive job so now I feel my money has been wasted at least part of it! Make sure you do your research and ask a lot of questions before you purchase your flooring especially if you are having it installed by Home Depot. There is no other place in or outside my home that I will be able to use the extra carpet. I am very...
Read moreWent to the Home Depot on Corunna road today to buy a John Deere zero turn for my Son who just bought his first home. We got there and went in to the "customer service" desk and asked to have someone come out to the sidewalk to help with the new mower. After 15 minutes waiting I called the store from the sidewalk and asked for the store manager. She came out to help with another employee about 5 minutes later. I asked about one specific mower I wanted to buy. I wanted to hear it start up before I bought it. It was $3,200 so I wanted to see if it started and was able to drive it up on the trailer. It wouldn't start. He said it was out of gas. He said that I could go in and buy fuel if I wanted to see it run before buying. I asked him if they were selling these and people who need to load them and want to make sure they actually run before buying them and he said they do NOT have any way to start them, only if I brought my own gas. That ludicrous. I bet John Deere appreciates this when being their representative. I just wanted to see it start up.
If you are going to the Home Depot on Corunna Road in Flint to buy a zero turn, make sure to take gas if you want it loaded on a trailer or if you want to make sure it starts. Quite...
