Just before Christmas are waitresses gave us the wrong bill we checked out and then i saw the issue. Not a problem at all this waitress made a small mistake we wasnt upset or mad the waitress is always so nice and extremely professional. The manager on the other hand decided to escalated the whole situation and started berating her in front of all the customers in the restaurant. She was very rude and unprofessional. Me and my fiancé was very upset and kept apologizing to the waitress. As the manager kept saying things to her. The bill i got that was the other tables ordered a lot of similar stuff. So what should have been a easy fix the manager made us feel like, us and the waitress was horrible people and we have bothered her to do her job. It took me a month to go back in there cuz 1 i was upset about the situation and I wanted to make sure knew it wasnt her fault and wasnt mad at her at all. She apologized 100 times again I told her she didnt need to apologize accidents happen but that manager was way out of line. And i didnt like how she treated her. I told her I haven’t been back since then. She said i know i miss you guys in here. Give us another chance, and to show how good she was she made excuses and defended her manager even though she was treated like crap by her. I said ok maybe soon well that didnt go over so well either. I stopped there a few mornings ago on the way to work. I called ahead and ordered two Detroit style coneys without onions. Like i have many many times before. So they didnt take payment over the phone cuz they know me. I get there and for some reason my food wasnt made and could find my order. She said give us one min and we will have it for you. No biggie at all stuff happens. Again told her detroit chili and no onions. Few minutes later i got the food and left. I got a few miles down the road and smelled strong order of onions. I opened the bag to take a look wrong chili and full of onions. I called mega and the lady said she would write a note and i would get two coneys to replace those since i didnt have time to turn around cuz i would be late for work. I said thank you and would be a few days to get the dogs. She said no problem the note is in the office. Fast forward to today i called on the way home from work and told the lady on the phone the situation and she said when did this happen i told her like 2-3 days ago. She said ok. Gets back on the phone almost immediately and said her manager said i only had 24 hours to get the replacement coneys and they cant help me. I said really i guess i wont come back again she said thats fine sir and hung up. What great customer service they have here. This is the second time we gave them a chance. I will not give them another. And is a shame we really liked the atmosphere and the food, but what made us come back was how nice the wait staff was especially...
Read moreOur first time visiting Mega was was at 10pm on a Monday night so I’m sure they weren’t operating at their peak. We chose the drive-thru option; I got the fish and chips (went with the chili cheese fries upgrade) and a cup of chicken noodle soup came with my dinner, my husband got the “hanny” pita and a side of fries. Total came to $28-ish dollars, which surprised us a little bit.
Like I said, 10pm on a Monday is probably not prime time for the diner but the soup was pretty sad. I chose to eat it in the car, on the drive home, and the chicken was so dry, I actually scooped it out and when we got home, threw it in the bowl we keep outside for feeding the local stray cats 😆 The noodles were pretty much mush and it was definitely pretty salty. I do feel like if you got it when it was fresh, it would’ve been pretty decent. Lots of chicken and celery.
The fish was also really, really dry but this was definitely a case of being over cooked. It was so disappointing because it was 3 nice pieces of cod, the breading tasted great and the flavor was there— the fish was just cooked way too long so the ends of each piece were dry and chewy. The chili cheese fries were the highlight for me— really good ratio of cheese to chili and the fries were great themselves. Chili was a little on the sweet side but a nice texture for being served as a topping. I hate it when places throw that super chunky bean-filled chili on fries so I was glad theirs was bean free and no giant chunks of beef.
My husband was really satisfied with his “hanny” sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. We’re from metro Detroit, living now in Shiawassee, and it’s been ages since we had a hani from a National Coney Island so this was a pleasant surprise. He also enjoyed his French fries as well.
The soup was an understandable misstep but paying $14 for mega dry fish was so incredibly disappointing. The fact that they have a drive-thru is very handy, especially in pandemic times, and the wait was surprisingly short. I can tell that if you got the right items at the right time of day, this place would be fantastic but until we try it again, I’m saying it’s a...

First time eating here and it WILL be the last. You can get ANYTHING on that menu for the same price or less for better within a 5-10 mile radius.
Tried ordering for a family of five and they apparently couldn't hear me in the drive thru. Okay, i get it...So, I parked, walked in and and ordered my family's food to go. The person who took my order inside was rude, short, possibly new...But didn't the ask her coworkers for help. So, this made the ordering process VERY difficult.
While I was seated by the door waiting for our order. I observed that every single employee, servers, and cooks had a nasty rude attitude toward customers. Take their order, smile, and roll their eyes as they walked away. Person who answered the phone, rude. The person inside who took my order could not comprehend my family's order Aagain, okay...whatever. After I ordered my food and seated by the door to wait. While waiting, I observed the waitstaff interactions with customers.
At one time, a customer called requesting to speak with the manager about a to go order that was messed up. Well, "Manager Paige" was just as guilty as the rest of cooks and waitstaff as she rolled her eyes while "listening" to the customer. Another employee asked her "what was that call about? " "Manager Paige" said "her chicken salad had onions, when they she said no onions." Then Paige grumbled, rolled her eyes and said: "I dont know why they couldn't just pick the onions out."
Allergies, Paige! You should have known that being a "Manager" and all.
One star simply because they need a serious crash course in working with the public and obviously...
