Spectacular Spudz — Local services in Flint

I drove in from Saginaw to try Spectacular Spudz after hearing great things, and while the food absolutely lived up to the hype, the experience had its highs and lows.

The wait was long—there were a lot of people waiting for their food, and only one person working the front. She was juggling taking orders, serving tables, and handing out to-go orders all by herself. On top of that, there was one bartender present, but he made it clear he wouldn’t take my order since I wasn’t sitting at the bar. Even after noticing how backed up the server was and that I’d already been waiting an hour, he still didn’t step in to help.

Despite the chaos, the one server was amazing once she got to us. She kept a positive attitude, stayed professional, and made sure our experience didn’t go downhill. I tipped her well because she truly carried that place during my visit.

As for the food—it was perfect. Worth the wait, especially since I was with a friend who really wanted to try it.

This makes me really sad. I really used to love this place. The website to track your order was broken for my order we were sitting outside the restaurant for a good hour waiting. I ended up calling the restaurant to see what was going on since the only thing it said was 'order received' once someone picked up they couldn't hear anything I was saying because of the noise from the music and guests once they finally understood they told me my order is ready and it's sitting right here which means my order was most likely sitting there for 20-30 minutes without me even knowing just to find out the potatoes were dry and for myself I got the chicken Alfredo and the chicken was dry. Me and my partner would frequently get food here for awhile on special occasions but after tonight it doesn't look like we will anymore. My partner also added mushrooms which were no where to be found. It's really sad that I could've made this better myself when I used to love the food...

It's pretty impressive how far this place has come from the stall in the Farmer's Market. They have a full menu and way more options than the 5-6 I was used to. There's also plenty of seating.

The reason I had to fock a star is because the online price is different from the in-person price. The menu item I ordered was $12 online, compared to $10 in the restaurant. I only ordered online because I was nearby and wanted to get a quick walk in. For the price difference I could have just waited to order in-person. The only explanation given for the difference was "it's because of the delivery services".

I still got plenty of food for the price. It's definitely a full meal. I just don't like the surprise of having to pay more when ordering online because of some other business.
