UPDATE: THE OWNER ADDED INSULT TO INJURY. I WAS NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE WAIT. I WAS COMPLAINING AFTER WAITING PATIENTLY TWO PEOPLE WERE SEATED AT A TABLE I WAS DENIED BECAUSE THEY WERE SOMEONE’S PARENTS. I WAS NEVER OFFERED INSIDE SEATING BY ANYONE (I have pre-existing medical conditions and I would have explained that). I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE STARING AND THE POINTING FROM THE STAFF!!!! AS A DIRECTOR OF A LARGE PROGRAM I PRIORITIZE COMPLAINTS, NOT LOOK FOR EXCUSES!!!!! It was my third visit to the establishment in the last couple of weeks, and my last. I love Mexican food and I really liked the outside seating. Yesterday was the worst experience I have ever had at any type of professional establishment. I was informed there was a 20-25-minute wait and I chose to stay. I observed a table for 5 open, but we were not offered the table because it was only two of us. About 30-35 minutes into my 20-25-minute wait, three guys walked straight thru had a seat at the only open table and was promptly served. Then another table for 5 opened. Two people who had been waiting maybe 5 or 10 minutes was seated (there was at least 3 couples who checked in after me). When another person waiting for a seat asked why, she was told because she was the parents of a server. At this point, the person became very upset especially because she and her guest was turned down for the table for 5. She even attempted to share a table with two other individuals, whom were strangers, in the interest of being seated. The four eventually got upset and left. My daughter and I were seated after about a 45-minute wait. I went to speak with Ricky the manager. I explained what had transpired and he assured me that they don’t hold tables for large parties it was first come, first serve and he would look into it. I offered to comp my appetizers and drinks. I was somewhat hopeful that he would look into and I went ahead and ordered. My daughter refused to eat anything. She did not want me to spend my hard earned money at a place I was not valued. At this point, I was still hopeful that the manager would salvage the evening. It became very clear that no such thing would happen, and it became very uncomfortable with all the glares from the staff and at least one person pointed towards us. I paid my bill and left. I will to say our server (who has also served me a few times at Blackstone’s) was the only professional I encountered at the establishment. I left my card for Ricky to call me to clarify why my time was wasted and why that level of disrespect from his staff was allowed. I realized this morning that leaving my card was a waste of time, if he was interested in keeping me as a customer he would have apologized, genuinely, and not tried to throw free food and drinks at me. If I wanted free food I would have tried a soup kitchen, not a restaurant...
Read moreCame in tonight for what has been my worst experience at a restaurant ever. It was only my wife and I who were looking for a quick dinner so we ordered a queso appetizer, 3 al la carte tacos, and a birria taco.
The good: birria tacos and Al pastor tasted good.
The bad: Took over 10 minutes after sitting down to be greeted by waitress and another 10 minutes for our first glass of water. Took another 15+ minutes to be able to put food order in. Once food was ordered, only the birria tacos and one single taco came out timely, queso dip was served during the middle of our visit and the final 3 tacos came out a full hour after we initially ordered. Our table was ignored almost the entire night. No explanations of food delays, we had to ask more than once over a 10+ minute span for a simple water refill. The table behind us was checked on over 5 times with us not even getting a glance/check in. By the end we had to have a second waitress take our bill / card just so we could cash out in a timely manor becuase the first was MIA just like the entire meal.
We arrived at 8:20pm and did not end up cashed out and able to leave until right around 9:50pm. All of that for 6 total tacos and some queso dip. We didn't even have an alcoholic drink considering my wife is pregnant so there was no reason for this amount of time. With how poor the timing and service was this marks the first time in my entire life I have opted not to leave a tip to a waitress.
Overall, this was only my second time coming here and I likely won't be coming back; plenty of better places for tacos in the area, and if I wanted to wait an hour and a half for tacos I would have just gone to the store and made them myself in...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed coming to this restaurant. After learning that they just replaced Xolo I expected a good experience. I ended up walking out with my friend after waiting for over 30 minutes to be waited on. We walked in and were sat at a dirty table that had trash on it. We were passed multiple times by multiple staff and nobody came to take our order. After flagging down a worker that had walked past us multiple times he took our order. While he was taking the order, the owner came up to him and tried to pull him away from our table. Mind you, we had already been there for 30 minutes and weren’t event given water. After our order was taken another 10 minutes went by, still no water despite having the man that took our order walk past us multiple times. I finally took the bottle of water out of my purse thinking they’d get the hint and nothing. I finally went to the bartender and told him how long we had been sitting there and walked out. Unbelievably horrible service….ill never be back…it’s so sad because the new owner has done so much good for the flint community….maybe restaurant owning isn’t in his...
