I had the same beautician for 20+ years and I really wanted to expand my horizons and try something new and different. I am frequently downtown Flint and one afternoon while walking I noticed this modern upbeat looking building and it just so happened to be a salon. I Googled their name, added their Instagram, and the next day stopped in to check the inside out and possibly book an appointment (you know how it goes ladies, it's scary changing hairstylists!). The atmosphere was exactly as I had imagined, clean, modern, and upbeat. The appointment setter was knowledgeable and very polite and I was able to book an appointment for the next week. I knew I wanted something different but wasn't quite sure what. My stylist Kaylee Kelly was a breath of fresh air. She listened to my "likes" and "dislikes" as it pertained to my hairstyle (or my lack thereof), and wasn't even fazed by my admission of taking matters into my own hands and doing a very bad hair trim on myself....ha ha She did an absolutely awesome job on the color and the haircut was perfect for my age and face shape! Love refinery! Run don't walk and book with Kristina. I came to Kristina when my hair was previously damaged from over-processing. I was scared to step into another salon, scared it would happen again. That was not the case. Kristina welcomed me and listened to every concern I had. She was honest with what should be done, but was considerate to what I also was concerned about. She was gentle, kind, and always made sure I was comfortable, not just with what she was going to do, but with me in general. I left the salon that day with my hair soft, manageable, healthy, and such a beautiful blonde. Fast forward, I have been seeing Kristina for five years, we have worked together to plan the best route to get my hair back to what it used to be! She has always surpassed what I expected when leaving her chair. My favorite part of being her client is that she listens, is honest, communicates, and always looks out for the integrity of my hair. I finally took a leap of faith and made an appointment at Refinery Hair Company with Kaylee Kelly. Satisfied is BEYOND an understatement for my experience here. From start the finish I’ve never been happier getting my hair done and never been happy with the outcome of the appointment. Kaylee was very comforting and understanding and explained everything she was doing every step of the way. She not only gave me my confidence back but earned a client for as long as she will have me and my daughters.
