Southgate Bowling Center — Local services in Florence

Lanes drier than a popcorn fart. I and my dad are experienced bowlers. Dad was semi pro years ago and I have never seen him struggle bowling. My dad a 200 avg bowler and my self a 160 avg barely breaking 100 in all three games we played. We asked about getting another lane and they said the lanes were oiled yesterday. I went and whipped my finger on the lanes and pulled up a dust ball. My dad uses urethane balls from the 70s-80s and they where hooking as soon as the ball laned on the lane and into the gutters. My balls a more modern ball Brunswick twist (Low flare/hook) hooked so much it went into the gutter 10 feet before reaching the pins. So dry and not fun for competing but we had a good laugh making sure the 7 pin never remained. Inside looks to have never had an update since the 70s box tvs for score keeping and ball return covers busted and the keypads held together with duct tape... Trash!! Staff is very rude. From the first interaction when purchasing the shoes. My first time at the establishment and I asked if they had military discount. Like I do at any other establishment l. The lady responded “I mean for $2.50 a game, how cheaper can I go”. Something like that. Very sarcastically. That’s not what I asked. The amount for the game does not matter, I asked if you had military discount. That’s a yes or no. Let that slide because we are trying to have a family outing. I don’t see how they are still open. The lanes half way work. Balls are not coming back like they should. Stay away from lane 11 apparently .I should have known it wasn’t going to be good when the bathroom toilet was overflowing but I drove from Columbia so we stayed. Told my niece she couldn’t use the girls bathroom, when she’s a girl. Another story within itself. I definitely could have stayed home and kept my money. If I could give 0 stars that’s what...

I am VERY upset with this bowling alley because last night on 8/25/2022, 3 trucks (as we know of) were broken into and when asked to see the cameras.. they said "our cameras don't work" which is bull.

I wouldn't take anybody here knowing that it is unsafe area already and that this place doesn't even have cameras that "work". How are you going to say you care about the people but have no cameras "working"?

Might I add, they KNEW more break ins happened a couple months ago and knowing that information they still don't have cameras that "work". Seems fishy to me that all these places hit last night (including this bowling alley) all of them say "our cameras...
