I have purchased several things from the Florence store. Most things purchased are suitable and remember this is a closeout store. If it's rechargeable then more than likely it isn't going to hold up. These items sit for years in warehouses then stores and back to warehouses where years later Ollie's has it. The shelf life of rechargeable batteries usually is a year. If it sits dead for many years it usually won't take a charge and if it does then normally it'll drain fast. Then the issue I had with the dead batteries. This was a 20volt lawn tool that I tried 24 hours and it was just dead. So I carry it back and the young lady was great. Although since I didn't want the same problem with my exchange I tested it in OLLIE'S up front plug in. It was the same issue, it wouldn't charge and it has a indicator on the charger that says if it's charging normally. Well I decided I wanted my money back because it was obvious the entire batch seemed doa. The manager has to come up from the back to do the refund. I could sence this seemed to have irritated him because I guess he had to walk from the back im not sure. I explain everything all over again to him and show him the other wasn't charging either. He says you know these require at least 8 hours on the first charge. I said correct and I tried 24 hours on the 1st one. I explained to him it has a indicator that tells you if the battery is accepting a charge because it would go from red to green. This is what got underneath my skin, he said I don't have time to investigate every little thing. WHY did he say that? He would not speak anything else, just gave my money back without sorry for the inconvenience. He just walked off and I still cannot figure out why and it bothered me. I did nothing but purchase a defective product and brought it back within 36 hours. They have a policy on the wall. I just will never patronize Ollie's ever because of...
Read moreIt's a really great store and the staff are friendly and helpful. I have bought two things from there I noticed issues with later, thus the 4 stars. They're great with exchanges though - one of them I was able to return easily and exchange, the other was one of two chairs I purchased and walked home with my kiddo in tow after purchasing and I noticed some stitching on the second chair being messed up after I got home. Due to the hour and work the next day I didnt bother returning it bc it was outdoor furniture and we had storms before I got a chance to and I physically didn't feel up to walking it back and forth again with the kid but know they'd have exchanged it most likely. Not the greatest photo sorry. Anyhow, I would just check items before you purchase them to ensure there aren't small things wrong with them. I've shopped there a lot since oct. And only had one boxed toy missing an item, and this occurring with the chair so I'd say it is a wonderful place to find a bargain of fairly decent quality. The staff have also been extremely helpful and kind if I call and ask if they have something before...
