My Mom has been at Country Care Manor for a little over 4 years. The staff are very caring and never too busy to talk with me and answer questions. Before the pandemic, she enjoyed the many activities offered and the fellowship of other residents during activities and mealtime. She also looked forward to the visits from the various local churches. Although some activities have resumed on a limited basis, she looks forward to when the residents can gather together in the dining rooms without social distancing. Also, she is eagerly awaiting the reopening of the hair salon.
I am deeply appreciative for all that the caregivers did for Mom while recovering from the Coronavirus. I was not allowed to visit during this time and the staff from the nurses, med aides, CNA's , administration and even the housekeeping crew took over the roll of family members while the nursing home was locked down. They were always very willing to give me daily updates on her recovery progress. They were a vital support system for Mom and worked tirelessly, sometimes without time off for days.
The therapy department was exceptional in helping her get back to her pre-virus health condition. The speech, occupational and physical therapists worked with her 4 to 5 days per week until she recovered.
This has been a stressful time for all concerned and I believe Country Care Manor handled the situation in an orderly and...
Read moreMy father had requested to go there after a hospital stay for physical therapy. Within two days there he had lost his wallet and family was not notified until a week later. By that I mean, my confused father had mentioned it to me while on the phone. When I called I was met with a very snide social worker by the name of Bernice on the 10th of December.
Yesterday 12/19/23 I called Bernice to figure out LTC for my dad and was immediately met with being cutoff mid sentence and degraded for not being in Texas to take care of my dad. When I asked for solutions or help I was told random LTC facilities without contact information. The same night, thankfully a skilled and knowledgeable Nurse by the name of Mikayla called me and told me she has to send my dad to the ER. My dad was now battling pneumonia and sepsis and would receive blood pressure support medication and needing to have fluid drained from his lung.
Mind you, this is the first time I was called by a staff member for in the two weeks he has been there, other than prior to his arrival. I have tried to get in touch with administrators at the facility...
Read moreThe People are the reason I am taking a moment to endorse Country Care Manor! Amanda, wow she was the first person I met after my Mom was admitted for rehab! She was like a Breath of fresh air, and my worries were washed away just knowing if mom needed anything Amanda would be there! Then there was Monica who would take the extra time to visit with Mom and make sure she ate her food! As I was visiting Mom yesterday Amanda stopped in to trim my Mom's nails..... I tried, but I failed miserably! And then there was Jimmy, and what a Charcter! A Resient who consoles everyone who comes in and the Residents that just need a little conversating & reassuring! His smile is contagious and his welcoming is priceless! Its comforting and a True Blessing for our Family knowing our Mother is cared for and always recognized for who she is and what she represents....love and kindness for everyone she comes in contact with! Thank you Mom, and Thank You Country Care Manor!
Respectfully, Jeff West...
