The Chapel at Seaside — Local services in Florida

The Chapel at Seaside is quite extraordinary, and Jesus is there.

The Chapel aesthetic is beach chic.

The music is equally unique, and first song at the Christmas Eve service was what seemed to be a boho version of “O Come All Ye Faithful” with the music provided by a violin and a guitar.

The message was spellbinding, and Andrew Beard, the pastor, is a an eloquent, artful storyteller/speaker who masterfully weaves together real human life and scripture. He makes the scriptures come alive.

After the service, I misplaced my phone, so I went back to the church to see if I left it there. The person I happened to ask was Sarah Beard, the pastor’s wife, and she immediately stopped what she was doing to help me. My phone didn’t turn up at the church, so she offered to call my number and walk outside to my car to see if we could find it, and we did find it.

Sarah did not have to help me, but she did!

That was just “wow” to me, and her attention to my dilemma speaks to her humble, Christlike character. Her humility and servant’s heart were a real-life reminder to me that there are loving, Christlike people among us in this dark world.

10 years ago at Modica’s Market in Seaside, Maddy and I sat with Gary to discuss details for our beach wedding. He said “since you are both a little older, I’m sure I can skip the advice”. Well, we should have taken it…just kidding!! Today we live on the east coast of Florida, and both retired!! Two days from now we will celebrate our 10 year anniversary on the Thursday the 29th. We are currently on the beach having a bottle of champagne, just like we did in Seaside. We tell all our friends that Jerry Springer married us, and then we show them the pics of Gary doing his thing(dead ringer for Springer). We recently filmed a wedding at the chapel and had an amazing experience! The event staff were so friendly and accommodating to our requests! They ensured that we were able to have the best spots possible to get the best videos for our couple! Also, the chapel is STUNNING! Every corner is spotless and truly made for a great setting!
