I thought the BBQ and meal was good, a bit higher than normal but was to be expected for the location....I guess. The problem I have is the fact that you hit me with a 15% gratuity for me choosing to do business with you. It was I that stood in line for 20 minutes just to place the order, half of the time was spent watching call in orders bump me but I can live with that. What I find unacceptable is you charging me 15% for taking my order and then handing it to me. And just because OTHER shops in the area do it also does not make this right. Think about it.
Update: Yeah sure, its all my fault. I guess while I'm waiting there to place my order I need to not only look over the menu but also be looking for warnings and disclaimers posted about what all I'm about go pay over when I hand my credit card. Yes I know its CLEARLY on my receipt, that is how I learned about it to begin with. Doesn't do much to help AFTER THE FACT. Stop blaming your customers for doing business with you or because other shops do it. Trust me when I say it will NOT HAPPEN AGAIN with me.
I don't mind paying gratuity for good service but that is the point, it should be MY CHOICE and not the choice of the establishment and forced upon me. Taking my order and handing me my food is a basic service that SHOULD be covered with my order. Just a clever attempt of raising your price by 15% without raising the cost...
Read moreTo start off, if you want to visit this food truck, walk there. Parking is near impossible. For our excursion, I stayed in the car and my loving girlfriend walked to grab the food. Must have been quick service as she arrived 10 minutes later.
The guy running the cash register was funny and really engaging which is always appreciated. I got PB and I standard bbq sandwiches with two sides. I got the baked beans and potato salad and PB got the baked beans and mac and cheese. The baked beans were a bit different, but acceptable and the potato salad was so so delicious. PB LOVED the mac and cheese (so creamy and amazing) so would recommend these sides to all.
The sandwiches were good - the pork was beautifully tender and you can tell they know their stuff when it comes to prepping bbq meat. The hot lava sauce wasn't that hot (maybe we are just hipster elitists now with levels of hot, but Nashville can do that you). The flavor was incredibly good though, so you can consume a lot of it and at least for us, not have your night be ruined. It was a bit pricey for what you got, but we are also used to Nashville pricing and you are paying that...
Read moreEdit after owners response: If you want true Texas bbq, I’m from Austin, only Back Beach in Panama City Beach has that. Drive 20 minutes for it. It’s Texas in every bite. In 7yrs I’ve lived in Florida, I haven’t found anywhere else that gets close. In response to fees, we ate at 3 other trucks with no added fees. Maybe their fees are in their food prices 🤷♀️
Original review: Brisket was so dry. They told me they take off all fat and ends. Basically all flavor is gone. You need sauce. I believe it’d be great if they left all the flavor on it. Mac n cheese was pretty decent. Baked beans are spicy and vinegar tasting. All the bbq sauces have too much vinegar. They all taste like it. If I go back I’ll see what the ribs look like and maybe try them. I also realized after leaving that I was charged $5 more than the price on the sign. Not sure why. I didn’t get anything except the platter. The sign said $17.75 or close to that. I was charged $22.59. I’m local. I figured locals might get a discount as other eateries do that, but not here. Parking is a nightmare. I noticed a kids meals are over $10 each. Glad mine are grown....
