Festival Foods — Local services in Fort Atkinson

They never say "thank you" - ever. It is shocking how many products offered are past their "best by" date. And, though they say they'll bag groceries for you, the checkers rather watch you do that. New item selection is good.

Re-reviewed after 6 months: Nothing has changed. Out of date product, some months past the "sell by" is a problem. Examples include: Kraft Singles, Kemp's sour cream, Motrin, Crystal Farms whipped butter, eggs. Watch out!

The bagging situation is still awful. Checkers should bag if no one else is available.

Checkout lines can be long despite available personnel being available restocking shelves. They should watch the front end and respond by temporarily reallocating staff.

Most annoying: no matter how much you spend, the checker will NEVER say "thank you". Never. And "have a nice day" or "here you go" (while handing the receipt) is NOT "thank you".

I'll continue to shop at Festival Foods Fort Atkinson and hope they improve. Remarks here and on their website have...

Went over there for a couple things, as they are about a block from me. Grabbed what I needed too nbeing that I walked n walk with a cane I asked if I could borrow the cart to take my things home n bring the cart back? I got told no that is theft. I walked back home with my cane and my groceries taking several breaks. Needless to say I thought it was not very nice. I would have brought the cart back but to be treated right away as tho I wouldn't was rude. I'm also disabled. But do the best I can for myself. I have done this for years I was a single mother and Woodmans in Janesville always let me borrow thier carts, any other store I went was always very nice. This is the very first time in my 50 year life, I have ever run into this problem. I will no longer shop...

I appreciate the very good variety & quality of foods, especially allergen-free foods, high quality fresh produce, deli, etc. Easier & faster to shop there than at a giant box store (farther away) and Festival still has 95% of what I like/need to buy. It is my first stop to find fresh foods I'd serve guests.

Friendly, helpful & attentive staff. Real human cashiers so I am NOT forced to use self check out (arthritis makes that painful WalMart -- look at age of customers and realize your insensitive idiocy Walfamily owners.)

I'd probably give 5 stars if they stocked Shar GF Cinnamon Raisin bagels and tasty Fitza GF frozen deep dish pizza made in Rockford, IL. Then get the other few items I normally seek on stock up trips at...
