Buyer beware: I visited ace hardware in Fort Atkinson looking for some dishwasher discharge tubing. The two individuals who helped me with this purchase invited me behind the counter of the key area. I showed them what kind of tube I was looking for and asked for 3 feet of 7/8 inch interior diameter tubing. A quick google search prior to entering the store showed that most places were selling this item for $1.00-1.60 a foot. I had trusted that Ace would be at least comparable. The tag that was provided to me to bring to the register showed a what I believed to be a total price between $4 and $5. It was only after that item was rung up I discovered that the price was $4-5 per foot. I went back in and spoke to the store manager at the time, Lupe, she informed that because it was already cut she couldn’t return the item. I took that for what it was and decided to eat that cost as a lesson learned. After returning home, I discovered that the item was the wrong size. I thought surely now they would return the item for me. Nope! Lupe after examining the product herself admitted to me the item was the wrong size and mislabeled, an error that was not the fault of myself or anyone else working that day, still said to spite that fact she could still not return the item. Two other individuals including a Fort Atkinson police officer advocated for an amicable resolution to this issue but according to Lupe none was to be had because she was not willing to get in trouble for bending the rules (something I can understand but not respect). She indicated that I was rude and disrespectful to her staff. I admit I was a bit miffed after discovering the exorbitantly high price and then more so after learning that even after making an error they refused to make it right. For that I do apologize. Please take this as an opportunity to learn from my mistake and make sure that every item you purchase from that store is exactly what you asked for because if it’s not no matter who’s fault it is you may end up...

I noticed it wasn’t working when my girlfriend called Ace To inquire about a refund Due to the automatic snake, not working. When Acquiring about a full refund, she was denied over the phone. I then decided it was time to take the snake back to Ace and speak with a manager about the situation. I could clearly tell my girlfriend was being disrespected, and the sad part was she had no clue. Once I got to the store and was greeted with a cheery “ hi welcome to ace hardware”, I asked to speak to an on floor manager. Wouldn’t you know it, No sooner had the words “manager”left my mouth before the employee who my girlfriend rented the snake from and whom she’d spoken to on the phone said “ ahh just give him the full refund . Apparently that act of me showing up in person got my girlfriend banned from the It was her credit card that was used to make the purchase Even though I was the one that went in The store to get the refund. Unreal petty crap. This store used to be great … can’t say that at all anymore . I’ve never felt so disrespected by something Minuscule. Ever since the new ownership, the store has Crap in my opinion. You can suck your shelves with new fancy But if a majority of the Employees are terrible at their job jobs. What’s the point going to a local hardware store over a larger more equipped / cheaper store . I’m over it . NEVER shopping here again … mostly because I went back and had them ban me...

Have spent quite a bit of money here and the service has gotten to where I will not shop here anymore.Lupe was too busy talking to another employee to help me.That has happened 3 times.I ended up going to Home Depot because I couldn't find the part and the employees were too busy standing around to help.Seems as though they are all there to collect a check while doing as little as possible.Maybe check your cameras and see what's going on.Your customers keep the place going so your employees can get paid.I was a customer service manager for 10 years and your customer service is terrible.I see the other reviews and apparently the owner doesn't care otherwise this should have been corrected.Fort Atkinson definately need a better place in town to shop...
