I was shopping between Kohls & Sephora in December 2024 & saw the manager screaming & yelling at staff from across the store making crude remarks. I was very much taken aback to witness someone in a management position acting so cruel to her employees whilst there where a handful of other customers in the store who also saw this unprofessional behavior. The manager who was treating her employees disrespectfully was Renee. I’m leaving this review because it completely disrupted my time shopping & was absurd to see such behavior in what is supposed to be a professional workplace. I will not be returning to this Kohls after such an unprofessional encounter. Another visit I had at this Kohl’s with the same manager I experienced There was a single cashier working, and a long line. Several times, the cashier called for help, but no one came to open another register. I observed another employee walk past this cashier several times, but she never stopped to help- she instead went into a side room near the entrance doors. As the line got longer and longer, and the single cashier struggled to keep up, I observed her burst into tears. Customers were calling out encouragement to the cashier- "It's ok honey. You're doing fine!" I walked to the side room and found the other female employee sorting some clothing. She asked me "Can I help you?" I said "Well, your cashier is struggling and just burst into tears and can't keep up with the line of people." This employee rolled her eyes and walked to the cashier station and rudely asked the cashier "Do you NEED something?" The cashier wiped her eyes and said "other than some help, no." The lady started to walk away, and I said "Can't you help her get through this line of customers?" And the lady said to me "No- I'm a MANAGER and I can't get tied up at a register for 45 minutes at a time." I said "How about for 10 minutes to help her out?" The manager said to me "What if I am needed in another part of the store? I can't be standing at a register." Another customer yelled out "I don't think you're going to be needed anywhere else- everyone who needs help is standing right here in this line." The manager then shook her head at us and angrily went to a register. My husband I were next in line but she was clearly upset with me and called the people behind us to check out with her. The lady in line with the upset cashier said to her "You need to leave this place. Come apply where I work- our managers do not treat their employees so poorly!" I have worked in retail management for years, and I know this store manager's behavior was completely out of line. She was rude to the employee, rude to customers, and did not seem to care at all if the store was running smoothly or customers were being taken care of. Your store was very poorly represented by...
Read moreAfter not shopping at Kohl's for 10 years, not for any particular reason just never did, I can 100% see why they struggle and are probably going to go out of business.
Dressing rooms almost on the opposite side of store from men's clothing. Walked back and forth so much choosing/trying on clothes my Apple watch asked if I was exercising. Store could easily be reconfigured to put most clothing around dressing rooms. They literally have luggage, bra's, housewares, shoes and other items people don't usually try on closer to the dressing rooms than a large portion of their clothing sections. I don't need to try on my luggage.
No employees visible to help in any section. Couldn't get a couple of sweatshirts we saw on way out because they were wired to the racks and no one around to help. Didn't feel like taking the time to track someone down for assistance. I guess having a good shopping experience for 99.9% of customers is less important than thwarting the occasional shoplifter.
Get to cash register one item doesn't have tag. The person asked if I would go find the price despite there being other employees there not helping customers. I said I wasn't sure exactly where I had gotten it could they have an employee go find the price. They just mumbled that they'd look it up online.
After ringing up everything else starts to try and find price online, can't, I ask why don't they just have one of the other employees go find it, and she tells me that usually when she calls floor they don't respond. She however does go ahead and calls floor, and after waiting many minutes, as she predicted they never responded. She still will not ask other employees in the area for help though. Ends up giving me a big discount on entire purchase, not sure if she charged me anything for shirt, and Kohl's cash for inconvenience.
Horrible shopping experience. Will only go back if I...
Read moreWe went to Kohl's today to buy to a pair of women's snow boots and discovered they had a clearance sale with the exact pair of boots I wanted. This pair of boots was like majority of shoes / boots on the clearance rack, it was only one left. The size I wanted was only pair on clearance rack in torn up box but had no price marked on box. We took it to Customer Service. "Taylor", while very helpful, couldn't locate a price either. She called for someone in Shoe Dept for assistance. "Heidi" from Shoe dept came and was extremely rude from minute she showed up. She said since there was no price, it wasn't on clearance. That someone must have put the box on clearance rack by "mistake". I tried explaining how destroyed the box was and it was only size left like many others on clearance rack, but she remained unsmiling, rude, shaking her head no and said "You don't wear the box - you wear the shoes and they're not on clearance". I replied,, "This isn't right, the boots were on the clearance rack. they just didn't have a price." Heidi kept shaking her head nope and couldn't care less what I was saying. I couldn't get over how rude Heidi was and how she just walked away. I kept saying , "The boots were on the clearance rack." "Taylor" then called her manager "Hannah" who was very professional and friendly. Hannah was able to look up the price and the boots WERE ON clearance. Bottom line "Taylor" and "Hannah" were...
