Chad does overpriced work at a low quality, the watch was kept for much longer than stated. He points the blame at the customer rather that realizing his mistakes. The first time I dropped off a watch to his shop, I was told it will be ready before 1, but 1pm at the latest. When I called that morning, I was told that it would not be ready before 1 pm, but rather it would be ready after 1pm and that I can pick it up from 1pm until their closing time at 4. I picked it up and wore it for the weekend and realized Chad had warped one of the links while working on it. He used a flathead screwdriver to push out the watch pins rather than a pusher/ link remover. The watch had special flat links and so I asked him if he had the proper tools and skills to work on a watch with flat link pins. He said he did have the proper tools and skills. I came back on Monday to drop off the watch for him to fix the warped link. He told me it would be working on it at night and that I would receive a call from the shop sometime on Tuesday morning letting me know when it was done so that I can come pick it up. The rest of the week went by with no communication at all. On Friday I called the shop and they said it was finished and just didn’t call. I went to the shop and asked Chad why he didn’t call. Chad made an excuse to point the blame on me instead. He said “I said come by tomorrow morning because it will be done. We will only call you in case it takes longer.” I quickly jumped in to tell him he was lying and so he apologized. He was not able to work on flat pins. He scratched and dented many parts of a sentimental watch. He kept blaming the quality of the watch and the flat link type. I asked him why he didn’t tell me before he started working on it that he couldn’t work on my sentimental watch. I never claimed that it was an expensive or high quality watch. But it had a lot of sentimental value and Chad dented, scratched, and warped links and then told me he wasn’t going to try to keep fixing it. The tattoo shop talked with me and told me a lot of customers have similar issues with Chad. It seems like a repeat issue based on other reviews. Back when it was golden images, the shop was wonderful. Avoid this shop at all costs if you care about your watch. They truly are con artists as stated in another review.
Chad will likely reply to this review blaming the quality of the watch. He will find ways to defend himself and point the blame onto me. I get it, he has a business gimmick to run. Chad is a dishonest man but very charming with his words. He is a good salesman, but unskilled...
Read moreHonestly, I really dislike writing negative reviews, but occasionally I make an exception. I don’t know the owners, Chad and Amber, their background, in fact I am not even going to comment on the quality of their work. Don’t know yet. Had a vintage swiss watch fixed here because my longtime watch repair man Peter at Proper Time in Wellington retired. Simple repair, replace stem and second hand… I dropped it. Hundred bucks.
In a nutshell on 10-11-24 was told initially they would look at the watch, get back with me in a week to 10 days with an estimate and then maybe three weeks after that to get it done. The estimate took a month and the repair took two months more plus. I was repeatedly blown off by the staff when I called. Once even lied to because she said I was next in the “queue” when it turned out my watch was missing. BTW Chad couldn't bring himself to admit they misplaced it, kept saying it had been “located”. NO apology at all. Barely any emotion. I never expressed my displeasure in many phone calls I made until 3 months in: I calmly wanted answers, only then did they find my watch. Yes I know they had just moved a block away. Shouldn't have affected their attitudes.
My problem is I’ve owned my own business for 40 years. Stuff happens. Own it, make a gesture, say you're sorry. Picked it up today, they were both there. Nothing.
My guess is with little competition they don’t...
Read moreI recently brought in a piece of Jewelery to be repaired. I also ordered a gold chain that I was told would come in a couple of days. I went back a week later and was told that the owner hadn’t even put the order in for the chain. I had given them a 40 dollar deposit 20 which was for the chain and 20 was for the earrings. I told them that I was disappointed because they said I would have the chain in a couple of days when it wasn’t even ordered a week later. They refused to give me back the full amount. The owners wife ( who had been not very nice from the first time I had gotten there ) told me that they were keeping the 20 dollars which would go toward her husband “ looking” at the earrings. There was nothing to look at. It just needed a new wire. I really don’t care so much about the 20 dollars although it made no sense why they would keep it. His wife was pretty nasty to me again. They are new owners to this store and you would think they would want to leave a positive impression. I never leave bad reviews. I only leave positive reviews but they were both so not nice and kept 20 dollars for nothing that I had to write something. I have lived in Fort Collins for over a year and the store owners in Fort Collins have been nothing but wonderful. These store owners did not fit the typical kind of store owners that are in this community. I would not...
